Mate, I remember reading in NME or Melody Maker in late '92 or early '93 (give or take 6 months) about how one of their toss pot journos was out posing around Camden Market one Saturday and he came across Liam on a small stall selling knock-off bootleg TDK D90's of the big raves (Fantazia n'all that tat). He was signing on and gettin a bit of cash-in-hand work where he could find it. It gutted me reading that story. Some rise. Some fall. But the music will never die. Shine on

I was obviously living under a rock from 1989 to 1992 because I had never heard of this band or this song until Lauren Laverne played it on 6 music recently. I have put this song in my top 10 of all time.

I was in the queue in Penny Lane Records, Liverpool waiting to pick up my pre-ordered CD of this banger. It always gets played at least a half a dozen times or more per year and always will around my gaff. Top one. Nice one. Sorted 👍

Wrong timing. 2 years earlier for Baggy or 2 years later for Britpop and they would have been household names like tgeir peers. Raw talent and attitude. Just a shame all of the hipsters abondoned British music at that time to worship the crap Americunt grunge bollix. Bell ends.

Cheers Mr. Gone! Link not handy but last fall I found an article about FU's implosion and by the time of this gig their usual guitarist had been replaced after he stopped showing up for rehersals. If memory of the article serves, for the prestige of Glastonbury '92 they added a lead guitarist as well, a second keyboardist, backup female vocalist and a saxaphone player (names forgotten, apologies: will track down the info & add a text update). So it's twice the band you saw the first time with hired gun musicians chosen for their playing abilities rather than what drugs they could score. What a life!
