Nicole you are my oasis. I watch the news and then your video pops up in my feed. I come here and am instantly soothed by your gentle acoustic music and stunning photography. Then your cheerful, passionate, optimistic, sometimes silly personality makes me chuckle and I feel refreshed when I leave. Thank you for sharing your farm and business with us. :)

Nicole - Thanks so much for shooting this harvesting video. One of the things I struggle with the most is understanding the size of mature plants. Often times, I only find close up images of the blooms or other photos without anything next to them, so there's no perspective to determine scale. This video was extremely helpful in that regard. Also, I really appreciate you sharing tips on the proper stage for harvesting versus a bloom that is "too far along" to include in a bouquet. You're awesome and a wonderful resource. Have a great week!
@ElderandOakFarm
@ElderandOakFarm 3 жыл бұрын
Yes! It is so helpful when it comes to seeing the mature plants! Like I'm currently working on my 2022 seed order & was going to order agrostemma- well I thought they were small blooms like the ammonium & baby's breath! But no! They're pretty big!

Nicole, I am SO EXCITED to have found you, which was from the KZbin channel " You can't eat the grass" I have been envying her flower beds thinking I would not be able to achieve that living in zone 4b.. THANK YOU for showing we can .. I am 4b central Vt. I have flower beds galore and couldn't bring myself to cut the blooms from my beds and have been dreaming of creating a cut flower bed.. This will be my goal for 2022. Right after watching all your videos ;) I love your enthusiasm for each precious bloom. I do will do a happy dance as each bloom arrives :) P.s after watching your joy and excitement, I did it.. I went out and cut myself two bouquet.

Dearest Nicole, I have now been following your videos for over 1.5 years all the way from South Africa, from before we took the big jump to move 500km, buu a farm and turn it into a flower farm. I follow loads of channels, listen to the flower podcast with Scott (Ascfg), and do hours of research, but I have to say you are still one of my favourite and most inspiring channels to watch! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and lovely, real and relatable personality. We are now a year into cut flower farming, grow an almost identical mix of varieties as you (largely inspired by your successes), and now supply 3 large grocery stores, and have a super busy stall at the local farmers market. In our busiest weeks we sell up to 300 bouquets per week. We are currently buying in alot to supplement what we grow until our production qties are sufficient, but are very happy how things have grown. I just want to say thank you, you were and still are one of my biggest inspirations! Anthony from Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa

I love your flowers Nicole!!!! They are so so gorgeous! I would love to grow flowers like you and I would definitely go to your Bouquet Bars if I lived there. But unfortunately, I live in Wisconsin. I have been having a terrible problem with my Zinnias. The Tarnished Plant Bug is all over them and destroying them. The leaves and buds are chewed up and if the Zinnia blooms, it is deformed. They look horrible! Someone told me the tarnished plant bug won’t eat holes in my zinnias. They thought it sounded like a worm issue, but I don’t see any other bug - only the tarnished plant bug everywhere. Can you please help and give me your advice and what to do about this horrible bug! Thanks!

I found your channel 7/2021 and have enjoyed it so. I have been watching some of your past streams, last night I watched one (not sure of the date), at the end you talked about how some people had kind of disappointed you in how they reacted to your choice to grow flowers for a living. Nicole please know that what you do is so much more than growing flowers (even though they are AMAZING). You help people like me that due to health issues are no longer able to work in their flowers as they would love to, there is nothing like the smell of dirt. Keep doing all you do, remember you are gardening for us too.
