THAT is Garden Therapy at it's finest. If you are not humbled by the deeper meaning of it all and your connection to that, then you are missing the point of it. Something about having your hands in the Earth reaffirms that connection of everything and it is a beautiful experience. Peace. =I=

Clothespins work great for clamping the row covers to the wire hoops inside the hoop house. No wind to pull them off. I'm told they can even be used for hanging clothes outside. I'll have to try that sometime.

I love how supportive gardeners are. That's a great idea. Especially since I no longer have my clothesline. I used my salad spinner to sift regular potting soil so I could use for my winter seed sowing. Reserved the bark chunks to mulch outside.

Haha Yes! Even though I KNOW that lesson I absentmindedly left the garden gate open for a SECOND yesterday after planting flats of romaine lettuce seedings. When I turned around 5 chickens had topped off every single one from 6" to 3", grrr. Oh well, cut and come again and maybe they'll get bushier, lol.

I keep regular deliveries of cayenne pepper going through the year after seeing how fast it deterred every single rodent in the neighborhood. Lol. Also, rest up, mama. That’s gonna be a mega sore back for the first planting. So excited for you! I’ve got my low tunnel set up for the ranuncs that are screaaaaming for ground, but we have endless days of 35mph winds here - it’s our norm here in SD… This weekend though! The next ten days is looking epic! 🌻🌻🌻 Also, last year was the first time I sold bouquets to people - and it was to someone who won my donated bouquets at a cancer benefit for a friend… so I feel your words at the end of the video. Feeling how impactful these beautiful babies are is SO overwhelming. In the best way possible. Keep going, mama! Keep going.

Hi Nicole. Just a idea for you regarding the voles. If you make a trench right out side the perimeter of your hoop house as close as you can to the sides and bury about 18 inches of chicken wire, it will take them longer to figure out how burrow in.

Orange was his favorite color. I got so emotional and it was in that moment that I truly realized how powerful flowers are. We aren't just growing flowers here. It's much more meaningful than that! That stuff should work. After rodents absolutely decimated my fall planted ranunculus I started using RepelsAll which is the same type of product(putrified egg solids, garlic, clove, thyme oil). Works great. No more visible rodent tunnels or activity. Good luck!

This video is so fun... Your enthusiasm is infectious. And as much as the whole video is fun the last 2 minutes is what makes it. We're similar age you're a little younger but we still have the same genre of music in our database to sing about hoop houses.
