John, if I can be so bold as to give you a couple tips with using the glue: 1) to keep the glue from oozing out of the tube while you're using it, stand it upright in a cup or mug🥰 and 2) if you wrap your band around a jar or glass, you can get that curve of the floral materials to match the curve of the wrist and help keep the band cleaner, too. Thanks again for your videos!😍

Yes! I am totally open to tips! Glue isn’t my go to for corsages - I normally use it for adding detail onto bridal work. So thank you!, especially standing the tube up in a cup - I used to get it everywhere! Thank you and stay safe 😀🌼

That was a s asking demonstration. I have a corsage to do and this is definitely the simplest option. I feel quite confident to do it myself now.

Ah, corsages! The bane of my floral work. I appreciate anyone that can do these well. Alas, I am not fond of the task. However, John, the glue does seem to make it an easier job tho' I can see it would take getting used to. Thanks for your willingness to always try new things and demonstrate your experience. as always, I look forward to these videos. Be well!

Thank you! When I first started out it was one of the first things I made - then when in full shop swing I hated them, them came back to loving them. Sadly they are less fashionable I think, but maybe better in different areas. Stay safe, take care 🌼

Corsages are how I found your channel (and quickly subscribed!) a few years back when I wanted to make one for my son's prom date. Your tutorials are so informative; and while I am just a Momma wanting to learn something new, the way you instruct makes me feel I can attempt to create a pretty arrangement to enjoy in our home. Thanks for another wonderful tutorial! Happy flowering! ツ

This cold glue works like a dream! Tip: before you put the cap back on, put some Vaseline on the tip - so the cap will not glue itself to the tube.

Great tip! I have had a couple with the caps welded on 😆

Great dicussion! From my experience using this glue, I always make sure that I have "glue to glue" adhesion which provides extra strength. I put down a little puddle of glue on the phlange so that the glue on the leaf or bud adheres to the glue on the base. But I also like how you placed them under the phlange to secure them. Also, the flowers actually last LONGER than wire and taped method because the glue instantly locks in the moisture. I use Crown and Glory to finish it off and lock in water from the top. That REALLY HELPS with longevity!

After watching one of your previous videos, I have used these little pot roses for corsages and they are brilliant with a wide variety of colours. I have only ever wired corsages but might consider glue though I tend to glue my fingers when I work with it...
@FlowerJoos3 жыл бұрын
It’s worth giving it a go. I sometimes find wiring has limits - with the glue you can add more volume. I think you could combine the two techniques - wire to get a base corsage, then glue in a few extra elements for volume and texture 🙋🏼♂️🌸

First corsage job in a long time this Friday, just watched the wired video but this is a far easier method. I'm always nervous about corsages.
@FlowerJoos3 жыл бұрын
You will be fine - just enjoy making it - imagine it’s for you! And you can combine the two techniques of you like - I used to do that with some and add very light flowers with glue on the day 😀🙋🏼♂️🌼

Thank you John for introducing cold glue and wish I had noticed your channel earlier! 😍 Was making wrist corsage 3 weeks ago with hot glue. Accidentally dropped some hot glue on my wrist… Part of my skin was burned away and stripped off when the hot glue was removed… The wound is still healing… 🙈
@FlowerJoos3 жыл бұрын
The hot glue is so dangerous - you really need to switch it off and on so it doesn’t get super hot. This was how we made wedding showers - dry foam base and all hot glued - my hands got burnt every weekend. 😬 But yes, the cold glue is great! And a lot safer 😀🙋🏼♂️🌼

Very beautiful! I love all the different greenery. You are correct in saying this method is a real last minute technique. They do wilt quicker. Do you recommend holding them in a cooler and if so, what temperature? Do you think spraying some FloraFresh on them will help?
@FlowerJoos3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I worked in Scotland and it was cool enough that we didn’t use coolers really - but yes, you can place in the cooler ( I can’t say what temperature - sorry ) and some Glory or FloraFresh will help 😀 It is fast though - and less elements to handle 😊🌼🙋🏼♂️
