When you said this method was not new but something people did in the past with other items, it reminded me of a method I learned during my own florist training. The method involved creating a small round bouquet of asparagus retrofractus which played the role of your floral egg. As you fed your flowers into the 'retro', it provided structure and a base to the bouquet. It was great for soft-stemmed flowers. I love how lush and colourful your bouquet is.

A nice bouquet for a larger woman wearing a plain gown. Not too many petite brides could carry it off well. And brides with more elaborate designed gowns, seed beads, crystals, lace and ruffles--that sort of thing wouldn't want a bouquet that detracts from the gown's design. That being said, I do love the organic look of your bouquet.

It’s so calming to watch you work, and this is stunning! I just wonder if there’s a way to use this technique, but somehow wrap those ends together so they’re not free and sticking out, if a more formal finish is required? Would it risk breaking the stems, as they’re put in at all different angles?
@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
jasmine commerce I know what you mean - thus style lends itself to keeping the stems. It is possible to bring the stems together and then bind them with ribbon, you just have to bring them together carefully, then tie, then wrap. I tend not to fully wrap though - seeing the stems below the wrapping point looks more natural. Just aim to wrap the bit that is held.

This is so easy as you can pull the tie as loose or tight as you want and you don't need to spin the LARGE bouquet in order to tie it. Thanks Again for your videos.

Hello, I love this loose, boho, big style without it being heavy. Is there a way to do this arrangement but having the smallest handle possible? Floral foam?
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
audrey1053 you could use floral foam, but you would probably need the biggest size of holder and then this will have a certain weight also. The floral egg allows the materials to sit nicely apart so you need less yo get a very full effect. The stems then create a counter balance which a big bouquet in foam wouldn’t have. So you would have a handle but the bouquet could be quite front heavy. I think if you can try both and test each option before the day required.
@audrey10535 жыл бұрын
@@FlowerJoos Thanks! I will try smaller versions to see the difference.

Beautiful and, yes boho tend to be very large but it's a style. My question is would you put bouquet in water till the event?
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
Deirdre Entrup yes, because this is essentially a tied bouquet it can be left in water up to the tying point, then when ready to be boxed can be trimmed and finished - then delivered. So it can be very fresh. I leave the stems longer than the finished design so they get a final cut on the day.

What do you do to preserve the bouquet before the wedding? Do you keep them in water?
@FlowerJoos4 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Warren if hand tied or still with stems then yes, put in water up to the tying point. Then place could tanner and bouquets somewhere cool and shady . You could mist with water but lightly, and even gently drape with a very thin plastic film - just to keep material fully hydrated. Then just take out, final cut on stems , finish off binding and box, and cover. If they are fully hydrated this is all you can do. 😀🙋🏼♂️
