This video was a life saver!! I watch 3 different florists' videos tell me it's the most complicated bouquet, don't make it the first one you ever do, and definitely don't do it on your wedding day. I checked all 3 boxes for my daughter's big day and was so nervous my hands were shaking when wrapping the wires. It turned out absolutely spectacular, thanks to this video, and my daughter loved it!

@@karend7936 thank you so much! I must admit it’s not something everyone can make off the cuff - and for an important day it’s worth having practise sessions before if you don’t normally make them. But it’s not impossible and you just need to work in a logical and tidy way - with some relaxing music and no distractions 😀 so well done - I think if you are a hand skilled person then that helps - like have cake decorating or embroidery skills up your sleeve!

@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
Rabiatul Iswandi if you can make on the day it’s best, or the afternoon or night before. For water the foam is wet, but when finished I would mist the bouquet and pop in a box with a cover of cellophane to keep in some humidity. Place somewhere cool and safe. The next morning check it and re-mist. That’s really all you can do.

Thank you for reminding us about line, rhythm and balance towards the center. Something I always need to remind myself of. I've had a few opportunities, as of late, to do hand tied cascades. I use Hittomi Gullium's method of a guid wire, but would love to see your solution to this.
@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
Henry Stollard thank you for messaging - I haven’t heard of that method - will definately have a look 😀
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
BE - you asked if this could be made 3 or 4 days in advance. This is too early. The wire used to support the calla can also cause them to rot - even overnight, so I would only make on the day or afternoon before at the earliest. The callas are just sensitive to damage. Saying that for any bouquet like this I prefer to make it as close to the time of use as possible.

Thanks for the video! very helpful. I would love to include sunflowers in my bouquet. would that work in a cascade? the stems are larger than roses.
@FlowerJoos5 жыл бұрын
Lauren Abeita yes they are tricky. And that’s not just the stem size, but they can wilt as well, so you need to have a plan b. Could you not use really good faux sunflowers for the cascade in amongst real flowers and greenery? Lighter in weight and no thick stem. Sunflowers are thirsty flowers - you don’t want them out of water for a long time, and in hot weather. Better as a cascading handtied, so they can be kept in water until last, and then they have more stem with water in as a resource.
@laurendoherty62515 жыл бұрын
@@FlowerJoos I see, that makes a lot of sense. thank you for the tip. I really like the idea of using a fresh sunflower so I may have to use the handtied. I was wondering how long the cascading bouquet you made here would last since it's not in water. Looks like something to make the same day.
