Read this book in 11th grade English. It was the first book that made me cry.

The film studio A24 should adapt this book into a movie. It would be a meaningful film in this day and age

I'm homeschooling my son and this book is part of the curriculum I use. I'm making him read it. I try to read most of the books my kids have to read but didn't have to read this one. I started reading the first few pages, then decided to find a video summary. I never had to read this when I was in school, honestly never heard of the book, and when I started reading it, I was trying to predict where the story would go. I was wrong. I thought Charlie's operation wasn't to make him smarter but was part of some sinister plan to experiment on him in other ways, like to test out lobotomies or something like that. But I knew the mouse had to be significant because his name is in the title. At the point I stopped reading, shortly after the operation was finished, Charlie didn't even seem to like the mouse so I was trying to figure out the mouse's significance. Anyway, the ending wasn't like I predicted, and I sort of wish I had time to read it.

This is the most ridiculous story. Never have changed my mind, I can’t stand the way the disabled are portrayed. The only realistic part was to show how the ignorance many people not only had then when this was written, but still have about those with disabilities.

Isn't it your morality and wishful thinking? Eventho I understand where you are coming from and somehow despise this book as well.
