You will probably not read it because the video is 4 Years old, but i love your very systematic approach where you cut it down into small, easy steps which can be trained separately. The ice on the cake would be, after naming the 4 variations of the gazelle to show them all to give us visual feedback :)

I'm really impressed with how you make your videos and how do you explain the drills. It requires much time and effort to include as much information, but it helps a lot. You make it look easy to do. So, thank you very much for take your time. Regards from Spain.

Asha demonstrates the techniques perfectly, like she's explaining to a 5 year old. That's where you learn the moves from A to Z in a proper fashion. Then you move onto Shaun. He takes you deep into every move, makes you get immersed in the steps and lets you "internalize" the entire sequence even before you put the skates on.. I admire this guy deeply!

Thanks for the video. I recognized this trick from one of your older videos. I have always wanted to do this. I’ve been working on 3-turns for a while, unrelated, and this trick looks like a 2-foot parallel 3-turn. I realize I already can do this but have never recognized it. Skating is amazing in how many people find different paths to the same movement. I love the discovery of skating. Keep up the awesome videos.

Wauw man, I picked up skating after 20 years, (did aggressive). Now I am skating some urban and trying out a bit freestyle and I really love your video's . Truly inspiring. I think it's very cool the way you translate your love for skating in (scientifical) tecnique tutorials like this. Also really had to laugh at 12:28 where you said you are biting your tong to not say anything but still you talk, because you really want the people to understand it and it truly shows your passion :) Keep on rocking with those awesome vids! Greetings from The Netherlands.

I have found, that I love to hate you! Hahaha! I got back into skating inline at 38 years old. No matter how many instructional videos I find. I often find myself coming back to watch you. Even in my better days, I would not have said I broke novice level. Nor would I say I have yet. Sometimes, watching how detailed and meticulous you are about any instructional you deliver, can be painstaking at times. But, I have truly come to appreciate your breakdowns that come in fine tuned detail. If I did not care about the way that I skate, I certainly would not watch you LOL! Thanks for all that you do! I also love the shirt, I'm a big fan of all of the Four Horsemen! You, Stoppard, Tiago, and Lino!

I just started ice skating with hockey skates and really feel the rocker now. I have been using a lot of the wizard skating ideas learning my turns and edges. Sounds funny but it is very much translating across. It makes me realize how much I need to upgrade my inline setup for next summer.

Oh wow...really great tutorial Shawn! I've been wondering how you guys do this. Do you need a rockered set up for this to work? I skate Xsjado's with a Kizer powerblade/72mm wheel flat set up. No probs doing slaloming crossovers etc - just gets 'sticky' when transitioning.
@FlowSkate
@FlowSkate 8 жыл бұрын
I have GC Bigs with 72mm and I can do Gazelles. Gazelles are easier on a Natural Rocker but they can be done on any set up other than anti rocker. The biggest difference I find when doing Gazelles on 72mm wheels is the edging. I can not edge as much with smaller wheels.

Crazy. I struggle with the back closed. I was never any good at illusion spins. Usually ended with me smashing my shins on the rail.

Dear Shaun, please, make a tutorial on skating down stairs. Maybe facing the stairs and backwards and in your video you skated them sideways. I would love to skate the stairs sideways btw because I think it very stable and you can see better than when going backwards.
@FlowSkate

I have comment on stair riding in a few other videos. I will be sure make a complete stair riding video. I also like skating stairs sideways. A fun and safer way to get down the stairs.

Can it be performed on an anti rocker setup? Ive tried it few times and i keep doing that fakie 180 spin which comes naturally for me. Gazelle looks so steezy though. Any tips?
@FlowSkate
@FlowSkate 7 жыл бұрын
Gazelles and 3 turns are very difficult on anti rocker. You usually pivot on the middle two wheels. Without the middle wheels you end up pivoting on the front and back wheels which has a different effect.

Hey Shaun, Thank you for your inspiring videos. They motivate a lot and it's cool that you take the time to explain and explain again :-) You wrote its possible to do this on any setup. Especially on a three wheels setup? I'm asking myself if three wheels could perform this. I'm thinking about to buy a pair of these. Would be great hearing from you :-) Greetings from Germany!

Attempting this highlights a consistent tendency with my skating: my weight always seems centered on my rear two wheels. It feels like I'm skating around on my heels. I've tried adjusting the cuff to a forward tilt, but that doesn't seem to help... any other ideas? Keep up the terrific videos! Many thanks from Oklahoma City Skates: Seba FRX; experience: novice

Great video. I have asked before but your never broke it down. Your rocker setup. Please what is the rocker set at. Low high high low. Or Low high low low. Your moves are very artistic so I assume similar rockker setup. Please clarify. Thanks
@FlowSkate
@FlowSkate 8 жыл бұрын
My skate has a Natural Rocker set up. Natural Rocker is a 1mm rocker on the first and last wheel on a slanted UFS frame. UFS is the universal frame system the standard for aggressive skates. UFS frames are flat. Traditional frames have a raised heel. The slant of the Natural Rocker allows me to more freely pivot on the third and second wheel. You can develop a natural rocker on any skate by rotating your wheels 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 and 4 to 4. The natural wear of you wheels will create a natural rocker.
