Floyd has been doing that for 35yrs. He was in the gym at 4 yrs old. EXTREMELY TALENTED BOXER. Wish that he stays retired, makes millions as a promoter and enjoys his family, healthy wealthy and wise.

He was a master and smooth as butter in the ring but a fish out of water jumping rope.... Anyways, jumping rope doesn't mean someone can fight good or not. Mike Tyson is nice jumping too.... You'll get a kick out of this video man, just to show you what i'm talking about... Here's a bunch of Boxing legends jumping rope... Check this out "Rope Skipping From Past and Present Boxers"

@minitrue101 skipping rope is an exercise that helps fighters build indurance AND it relates to footwork because it teaches you timing, rythym and coordination to help you move better around the ring because of the different ways you have to move your feet while skipping by combining regular two footed skips, then one foot at a time, jogging, crossing the rope and double unders that makes it possible

Actually...wrong...I did make it. Jose "OnFire" Aguirre shot the footage shortly before Mayweather fought Arturo Gatti. I was the one who edited it and laid the track on it. I can tell you a lot more details about it if you like since I'm the one with the original footage. Any other video you see out there, including the "REMIX" and the other one that was posted, is NOT the original and you should be able to tell as the quality isn't quite as good as this one.

Hey guys i was wondering if you could help me please? I'm new to skipping and can skip ok for a beginner.. but i do get trouble with the rope catching my feet at times which disrupts my rhythm. I'm a few kilo overweight and would love to get into shape by speed rope skipping as i don't like running really. My question is, should i get proper boxing boots for this to support my ankles (because my weight) or would that hinder my skipping? I am guessing i need to avoid trainers as the large heel supports would make them heavier and make the rope catch on my feet more? And i would be more on my toes anyways right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks guys
@G20000008 жыл бұрын
No m8, classic mind trick mistake is to buy gear or finding excuses to why you are not where you want to be :) just keep grinding and do what you do, keep practicing and your mind muscle connection will prevail ;)
@TheHungryTrollRawr8 жыл бұрын
I think my problem was i am skipping on concrete and it was hurting my shins (shin-splits kinda) and this was affecting my skipping.. legs aching and tiring To combat this i am getting a kinda rubber mat to absorb some of the impact as i skip so my legs don't ache so fast. But yeah as you said, i just need to keep at it and il improve over time. I just found it was tough even when i didn't feel exhausted kinda thing if that makes any sense? My enthusiasm was there but my legs just weren't keeping up lol. Thx for the comment thou, been checking for feedback for some time now. :)
@cardiomanify8 жыл бұрын
When you get shin splints, rest and let it heal before you continue. Shin splints will go away once your body adapts. Mine went away and never bothered me again. Break training into smaller chunks and then build it up once your body adapts. Keep at it. It took me 3 years to get good at it, starting from complete zero. I can now do 70% of Floyd's tricks. I'm getting there. I hope to learn all of them.
@TheHungryTrollRawr8 жыл бұрын
ReverseSouthpaw thankyou mate for your comment. Every bit of feedback is very helpful to me as other people's experiances are invaluable! Floyd mayweather is a blown up 130lb fighter. He started his career and won his first title at 130, and then slowly began to work his way to take more belts. Weight was no excuse for hatton. Hattons' trainer Graham said that he thought that Hatton was bigger and stronger than mayweather.

@ramicollo i always get the longest available, which i think is the 10ft. i tie lose knots in the cord near the handles to adjust the length then. it also gives you a bit of weight so you can get a nice rythym going.
@longways2JL16 жыл бұрын
it's a speed rope w/ pvc cord. to measure the length just step on the middle of the rope with one foot and adjust the length such that the end of each handle touches your armpit.

Great comment pal. I absolutely agree with you that "Skills pay t he bills" that's why Pacquiao is the most after sought fighter in the entire planet because of his skill. A fighter like JMM's caliber will agree to have a pay cut just to land a fight with Pacquiao. Just look at those fighters who almost calls his name daily. They are lining up on the Pacquiao sweeptakes. Really "Skills pay the bills"
