I used to study Mayweather's technique but hated him as a person. I now have no opinion on the matter. I have now been a victim of a woman accusing me of domestic abuse. In 6 years of marriage I never once raised my voice. We did not have a child old enough to be a witness, but they even convinced my ex-wife's nephew, a 9-year-old, to say that I had abused him. They used a situation where I made him sit on his bed for picking on his little brother while I was babysitting, and I sat at the bedside with him and had a conversation about why bullying is wrong. Children are very easy to manipulate, especially by their mothers. Studies will tell you that the psychology of a child is very innocent, but they are not innocent because they always tell the truth. The psychology of an innocent child's mind is that he will say what he is guessing an authority figure wants him to say. Because I was so depressed that my marriage was falling apart, I did a plea deal against the advice of my lawyer. I thought if I made this event go by quickly, then the arguing could would be over and we could move to steps of working on our marriage. I now have a criminal record of domestic abuse in the presence of a child. It has ruined my career, and after attending medical school I've been unemployed doing side jobs of handyman work and lawn care. Believe it or not, and I'm sure many won't believe this, when dividing the assets in our divorce, the judge ruled that my wife would get all assets, including the entirety of our bank account and stimulus checks. And I would be responsible for the entirety of our medical school debt, when she did not hold a full-time job at any point in our marriage, including the 5 of the 6 years that we did not have a child. Medical school loans paid for everything. This means that I'm actually still paying for the car, clothes, jewelry, and electronics that she enjoys from our marriage because it was all purchased with student loan money. I will continue to pay it off for the rest of my life. I can only see my son while I'm being supervised. One of the main arguments they used against me was that I was a martial artist and therefore violent. So I don't trust the feminist justice system for a second. They are extremely harsh to men. I'm not saying Floyd is innocent. I just have no opinion. If I had to wager I would guess that he was pretty much innocent, not because of any opinion I have of him, but just because women have learned that they can use the justice system to screw men.

Anyone who can even defend or justify Mayweather's behavior towards women is not that much better than Mayweather himself. Anyone who calls out or criticizes Rachel Nichols for doing what any gutsy reporter would do - and that's ask the hard questions that most are scared to ask - are probably the same people who enable Mayweather from behind held accountable for his actions. He would have been taking advantage of people who were unable to protect themselves, and that is incredibly low. Anyone who does that deserves a whole lot of punishment.

Justin G I agree with that, seems pretty rich that most media is making a shit storm about his transgressions on the eve of the biggest fight ever. However, that doesn't mean there aren't every day people like you and I that have known about this for years and have been disgusted by it. Nothing we can do but continue to speak out against domestic violence whether or not the media feels it's the appropriate time to do so for their benefit. Summary: fuck the media, and fuck men who hit women.
@gboileve9 жыл бұрын
Justin G I don't understand. This is coming up now because Nichols was banned by Mayweather's camp from MGM. So, she and fellow female reporters can't go to the fight. This is relevant because MAYWEATHER'S team made it relevant by banning them due to their reporting on his abuse. That's why it's coming up now.

RJSyeah Are you kidding me? She DESERVES it? Do you understand the words you are using? This man has abused several women in his life. His own children called the police on him. When you earn 105 million dollars a year, mostly from the public paying to see you punch people, then your physical abuse outside of the ring WILL and SHOULD be a story. Just like Bill Cosby or Ray Rice, people who molest or abuse other people should be in jail. THAT is the story here. She has every right to be there and he's only banning her because he's upset she publicized his horrific actions. You're defending an abuser while saying a female reporter 'deserved' to be banned because she exposed the truth over an athlete you admire. Get your priorities straight.
@Mike.Cebert9 жыл бұрын
Garrett Boileve And where did I say I was defending Mayweather's domestic abuse record!? Look above I've already said he is douchebag outside the ring, which he definitely is, I'm not defending him at all. Any abuse of any kind suffered by male or female is not right. Even so he didn't get away with it, he paid his dues, did his time, in the same way millions of others have done so, athletes and otherwise. Are we going to keep ostracizing people like this for the rest of their lives? Look at Mike Tyson, he's got as many fans now as he did in his prime, he's still loved the world over and everyone knows his history.... When I said she deserves to not be there...I'm indicating the fact that she's made all these shots at him, obviously she can't stand the guy and so why on earth would she want to go to the fight, where millions will be celebrating and cheering him on!? That to me doesn't make much sense. So if anything Mayweather's done her a favour!

Rei T i like how abuse is so offensive to you but blatant racial stereotyping is perfectly okay. grow up. i'm just saying, many NFL players are criminals but we still watch and support their teams. supporting an athletic pursuit is not equal to supporting their crimes. the morality of the athlete and their performance on the field is entirely unrelated.
@reitait49369 жыл бұрын
BadKidAdvil Lol I said it because I knew you'd get actually upset over a racist comment. Hitting a woman is nothing though. Let's continue to celebrate him and promote the idea that "boys, it does not matter if you are a criminal. As long as you're good at sports." ... Jesus.
@bleedingpepper9 жыл бұрын
BadKidAdvil But there's a double standard here though isn't there? The point is that that the NFL acted whereas their boxing equivalent did not. It's not the first time, and it's not just in the USA it happens. In Britain there was a big hoo-hah about a convicted rapist Ched Evans recommencing his football (soccer to you guys) career again after he was released (he was technically still to serve the remainder of his sentence on remand at this point). Some clubs wanted to sign him but eventually due to fan pressure, they backed off. Having said that, there are plenty of musicians who have been in trouble over many things including domestic violence. Some musicians are given a hard time over it and their career falls apart, but others are able to continue and their legacy is relatively untarnished. John Lennon is known to have beaten both his wives; and [emotionally and psychologically] abused his own son. I suppose my question is, is it morally right to ignore (or separate) the actions of one in their private life and revere in their public achievements? Are they not the same person? There are some jobs and professions where good conduct of character in your personal life is an expectation. Teachers, doctors, police, social workers, nurses and so on. If any of these people were convicted of something like domestic violence, they'd be barred from ever having anything to do with their profession again. Obviously being a musician or an athlete is totally different, but there's an argument to be made that if you're a public figure, you should because like it or not, you're going to be a role-model to alot of people. But on Mayweather, I'd have less issue with him if he was repentant and took responsibility for his actions.

It’s possible this couldn’t have happened when I was little my mom accused my dad of domestic violence and she would bruise and hit herself and when the police asked me to explain I was to little to understand what was happening and I somehow said that my dad hit my mom just goes to show how people can be decieved by things

Yeah, nobody outside of those involved know what happened exactly. But.. The girls floyd choses seem to represant the ones he grew up with. Woman that are drug users, manipulative and with bad childhoods like himself I think mayweather wasnt raised in a healthy family/enviorment so his own families will have their serious problems as well. I dont trust floyd but when i watch his ex girlfriends talk i dont trust them either! Life aint easy for all of us and i cannot imagine how hard it is to be good when you only know bad. I love the way that every person that is accused of DV can't admit to it! If a woman or a man can actually stand up for themselves and say something and/or call the police. Then they should not be dismissed. If law officials decide to dismiss or challenge a victim then eventually we will stop talking and then there will be deaths. So we need to ban these athletes and let them know that we do not approve and we will say NOMORE.

I can't believe a boxer is asked to be a politician as well. Or a spokesperson for Domestic Violence. Especially someone who's just been in grueling conditions to make weight, and is likely dehydrated. You're asking him complex questions literally a day before he goes into battle with someone that's trying kill him. I doubt even Obama, could do well in that type of a situation. I'm a little bit upset with CNN for not looking at the entire picture. If you look back in to Mayweather's history, he's also been subject to domestic violence as well. Even admission from his own supposed, victim. I think you all might forget, that just because he's stronger individual that most people, but that doesn't mean he's invulnerable. In his situation, he has no recourse. He can't ever legitimately defend himself, even if his lady attacks him. So unless he suffers an injury like being shot, or run over by a car, he's in trouble. That's simply ridiculous, but that's America. Some laws are simply unfair in many ways. Essentially, you're intentionally asking him questions that can not be answered. Especially, since the public believes that Domestic violence goes only one way, men against women. In 85% cases it does go one way(men against women), however 15% is women against men. And men have trouble even when their in that 15% minority. That's just terrible. When we look at the Rice situation, Rice was attacked by his fiance multiple times, he tried untactfully to defuse the situation, but failed. She then charged at him, and he defended himself. Now, he's asked to be at forefront of Domestic Violence in case where both were charged with assault originally, and he was dealt punishment. The issue is a complex issue and shouldn't be poster child for Domestic Violence in this country.Especially, when he was legitimately attacked by his lady. But you all don't answer that questions. How much is man supposed to take? If CNN, wanted to do real work on Mayweather's story they would look at how he's taken care of all of the supposed victims. And is also a great father to his children. Every body makes mistakes, the court ruled on his mistakes. And he should be free to live his life, just like any other person in America. Especially, when people like Vince Neil can literally killed 2 people drunk driving, and still was able to continue a career(he didn't even serve his 30 day sentence). Hell, Wall Streeters tried to bankrupt the government, and still walk around with the ability to make money. Why should Mayweather not be afforded a life like others? How about Ray Rice? How could have the audacity to beg the question of whether he should be allowed to continue his career as boxer? CNN's responsibility is to give the whole story, not jump on the band wagon like you're TMZ. Unfortunately, we receive piss poor journalism on the subject. Mayweather did the right thing by taking his punishment. It was also the best move for his family. Let him move on. At the minimum you could look into his charity acts. But instead you just want to paint a grim story. Funny, I expect something like this from the Enquirer, not CNN. Maybe I'm wrong to think like that. Just so you all know, I'm a fan, and I don't know anyone that is positive about Domestic Violence. We all have sisters, mothers, grandmothers, wouldn't want them hit either. But we all know things happen. If the situations are serious we leave them up to the courts, but in other others situations we would have to "talk" with perpetrator. Mayweather has had his punishment, let him live. Since you all want to do nonsensical stories for ratings, why don't you all donate to the National Hotline for Domestic abuse, so they can solve their funding problem. Instead of acting like vultures, why don't you all be proactive, instead of asking someone else to do something. I know you all will not but you'll ask Mayweather to donate money, that's just shiftless.

In May weathers or any abusers situation they ALL could have chosen to walk away. I did not say run and hide I said WALK AWAY. Big difference! If someone comes at another with the intent to cause serious bodily harm then by all means defend urself by whatever means u have at ur disposal but for a trained athlete to throw down against a person who has not had the same training is like taking a knife to a gunfight. May weather has the advantage of muscle mass, weight and training and could have very easily killed these women ...not to mention his kids
@nobodyheree110 жыл бұрын
The story of him FM going to jail is that he had an argument with a lady and he restrained Her kids ran and called the police. I imagine he received the plea deal because the strength of the evidence. The problem is that even if he restrained her, he would have hurt her. I'm sure there was no conclusive evidence that he actually beat her. But in order to prove his innocence he'd have to go through the entire process. I don't know if he's an abuser or not. However, I do know that he takes care of all these women that have been "abused". Maybe an abuser with a big heart. You can't always just walk away, but you must be smart.

Don't like Mayweather at all for various reasons. However, the way Rachel Nichols posed the questions are too personal, no matter you are a celebrity or not. Floyd has the power to ban this lady and it's his right to exercise that. He would have let her inside the arena and later condemned her for being there for what all the stuff she yapped about him in this video as she's trying to get in (I personally would NOT do anything even if my employer asks me to do if it's against my own values). She's a hypocrite and I see a LOT of them nowadays...including myself to an extent but atleast I don't hide somewhere but PREACH everyone on national television how they should or shouldn't spend their dollars. CNN, Fox all these channels...a load of bull. I hope the general public gets more smarter and don't give a damn to these people spreading their personal hatred and make the rest of us sheeple. And as far as we know, Rachel Nichols is the same. My point was that she didn't report on Charlie Sheen because she's a SPORTS reporter (not a "HOLLYWOOD" reporter). Saying she has double standards is like getting mad at McDonalds for not selling pizza. Why would you be upset about not getting it, if that's not what you should be expecting to get from them in the first place? Let that marinate.

What people are mad about is no one owns Mayweather so its not possible to take his employment away. If they banned him from boxing it will only financially hurt the boxing organization because he brings in the most fans and the most money. As far as this strawman BS with Ray Rice compared to Mayweather, Rice only slapped the woman and Mayweather alleged beat down these women. Mayweather paid the price for what he has done but Rice payed a heavier price for something that even his own wife testified to be an issue that she provoked. What needs to happen is for people to mind their own business and stop giving extreme punishments to black athletes when they damn well know white athletes that do the same type of things the issues get covered up and minimized.
