Gatti took a serious @ss beating in that fight. He was lucky to have Buddy in his corner that night to stop the fight. I partially blame Buddy because he knew this was going to happen long before these fighters entered the ring. "Don't worry about it" was him telling Gatti that he was going to stop the fight, instead of providing actual instructions. Why??? Because Buddy had no answer for what Floyd was doing to Gatti. All of this was above Buddy's ring intelligence level.

What folks don’t understand is, his hands where brital, so he stop fighting like that, keep getting hurt , so second half of his career he became defensive more, had he not have hand issues , im sure most of the fights would end in a stoppage

Man, I remember watching the full fight. I felt bad from Gatti when I saw the fight. Mayweather jr was bullying him with brutality every round. Gatti had no answers to Floyd's viciousness. Gatti was not prepared for this. RIP. However, years down the line, floyd fought many top level fighters and he won every one of those fights but not with this viciousness. I guess those other fighters were well prepared. However, no matter how vicious he was and is, he will never be able to bully pacquiao this way even though he won against pacquiao by few more punches. Pacquiao was the most prepared and the toughest fighter Mayweather jr fought against. He is stronger than Mayweather and just as fast but Mayweather is slightly more defensive and elusive which is why he won the fight.

@@xvdmrecords I disagree. And even if he did that doesn’t matter. Floyd is by far the better fighter. Manny isn’t in the same league
@xvdmrecords Жыл бұрын
@@yungwes20 you can disagree but that wont the change the fact that pacquiao is physically stronger than mayweather jr and mentally just as strong. Like i said before mayweather is slightly better with accuracy, elusiveness and defense which makes him technically better but not stronger than pacquiao.

Ive watched this time and time again, i will never believe that floyd cried after this bout out of being happy or victorious...he cried because hes a good person and he knows he really hurt arturo and it really made him feel some what ashamed he had to continue to do his job for the crowd.
@cleaver31682 жыл бұрын
I highly disagree. Floyd was saying "God is good" while he was crying, which was him literally thanking god for his incredible performance of the biggest fight of his career at the time, that doesn't really sound like shame or guilt to me. But that does make Floyd a bad person? Hell no. He's a good dude I agree. Floyd gave Gatti respect after the fight and always mentions him whenever he talks about the guys that help make his career what it is now. Saying he was a hell of fighter and whatnot. Boxing is a tough sport, and what happened in this fight is all part of the game. If you weren't a fan of what happend to Gatti, blame his handlers. Floyd was just doing his job and has every right to feel proud for such a masterful performance.

@@Am33304Listen brotha, this is boxing. Its a pugilistic warrior sport. I feel like you have a deep misunderstanding of this sport. This is an amazing event and a legendary fight. And the fact is, the WBC Junior Welterweight belt was on the line. This was the biggest fight of his career at the time because not only did he move up in weight to fight for the title, but he won and secured the belt in absolutely dominant fashion. He cried because he was proud of himself. He wasn't crying because he hurt Gatti and in no way would he EVER "not take the fight" for fear of hurting his opponent. Its a title fight...They both were well aware of the dangers and they knew the risk when they signed the contract. I'm not trying to be rude at all but that is a fact. I will say that I think it shows a lot about your character to not even comprehend the violence, even in a sport. That's a good trait to have bro bro 👌 but this sport is a violent one and its not for everybody.
