Gotta say that watching FM train is as interesting as his fights and I can't say that about any other fighter. For that, I gotta give him credit.

wow that's why Floyd is the best in the world, hes so fluid and when he and roger do pad work its awesome it flows like music. even at 36 he is still one of the fastest guys in boxing and roger is quick for an old man

You are correct, that part isnt about strength, its mainly about speed, co-ordination, agility, punch combinations (flurry's), movement and arm and shoulder endurance

is there a way to fight without movement?
@Trigun337
@Trigun337 11 жыл бұрын
Here's something it does, that you probably won't hear too often. It teaches/trains RELAXATION. How? Because you can't throw that many punches, THAT fast, for THAT long of a time being stiff and slow. You have to learn how to move without being tensed up. It's what people call "fluid motion." Like water in a balloon or something. Squeeze it, flip it around, hold it upside down. There IS NO TENSION. The water just slides from place to place, however or where ever you want to move it.

Timing and reaction time. Keeps the mind sharp. Notice he does the same mitt work for most of his fights. Why? Because he already has the skill, style and technique. Just needs to fine tune his reflexes and doing that kind of mitt-work helps. Also, we don't see Mayweather training all the time, so this mitt work may just be for the press.

To be fair roger is hitting him with the pads so it seems like Floyd is doing more than he actually is, not saying he doesnt put it down when it comes to training but theres a lot of parts where roger is hitting his gloves before he can even punch.

A prime Leonard had life and death and was dropped by a fringe contender from philly. Duran has lost to scrubs like Kirkland Laing. Hearns has been knocked out by Barkley. Great fighters don't always perform well, it happens. Don't act like all these older fighters fought top notch competition all the time

What has Alvarez accomplished? He's a 154 pounder who weighs 171 the night of the fight and has made a career beating up smaller fighters. Pacquiao beat Floyd left overs and fought at catch weights. Martinez is legit, although he is a middleweight.

lol every 6 months mayweather comes out and brings 50 journalists taping him and his uncle do that training method, then wins, then says hard work dedication in press conferences, then people still hate on him. wake up people, i was a mayweather hater but i have the courtesy to say despite disliking him I think he's going to be the greatest fighter ever. yes better than louis, ali, tyson...all.
