FLSun Super Racer Delta 3D Printer Review

Hi folks. In this video I'm going to review the Super Racer, which is a Delta style fdm 3D printer from FLSun that has a 260mm diameter x 330mm high print volume, and linear rails built into its vertical supports which help it to create good quality prints at speeds of up to 200 mm/s, 3x the speed of a standard hobby printer. Nice video. I only recently got into 3d resin printing - Saturn 3 Ultra. Been looking at fdm printers and ran across your video. How is it holding up so far? Do you have any other fdm printers and if so, what kinds and how do they compare? Thanks again for the video.

if you are interested in a delta 3d printer this is the best bang for the buck, if you have the budget go with the v400 either way you will not be disappointed.

I have one doubt please be honest, not having a flex built plate do cause any problem while removal of prints if they are delicate? (I want to buy this printer but have some doubts)

I've had no issues with it. Every plate will be a little different though. I have two Ender 3 V2's with glass beds and everything sticks to one really well while nothing sticks to the other. Exact same beds, very different results. You can buy an aftermarket flex plate for the Super Racer to eliminate your doubt, but I've never used one and don't know how the adhesive backing for it would affect thermal transfer from the bed to the plate.

Print volume is Ø 260 x 330mm high. If I need to print something bigger then I cut my CAD model into different smaller parts that can be assembled with a variety of print in place connections, adhesives or fasteners. Like the motorcycle fairing that I've been working on.

No issues at all. It's slower than their V400 which is basically an upgraded version of this (reviewed both), but I have nearly a dozen printers now, and these delta's are by far my favourites. Great design, easy to use, and the print quality is excellent.

I thoug this was faster than the A1 or A1 mini thats why i wanted to get it but 40 min for a benchy thats crazy that is way too long .... what settings are you using?

Presets, max speed where practical. A1 is rated for 500mm/s. FLSun's V400 (which you could be confusing with the Super Racer as they look exactly the same) is rated for 600mm/s. This Super Racer is only rated for 200mm/s. If you want a Delta like this that can compete with the A1, then consider the V400. It's faster than the A1, has a larger print volume, but otherwise it has the same features and it's only $100 (CAD) more. If you're looking for proper commercial machines, then check out their new S1 and T1 models that are rated for up to 1200mm/s.

v400 is fast this is quick, 200mm p/s is kinda its top speeds out of the box the v400 is 400mm/s so double the speed, still you have to tune them to get more out of them, this can do a benchy in under 10 min i am pretty sure i saw a vid showing it in under 8 min search im sure you will find it, not pretty at that speed but it gets it done, still who really cares how fast you can print an ugly benchy? great waste of filament and time, get a .06 hardened nozzle and upgrade the heater and you can print pretty damn fast after you figure out the profile settings. I am still debating upgrading mine with a v400 effector for the direct drive vs the bowden tube this one has

I had my eye on one of these, but the price was crazy, especially for not being enclosed. Ended up with the K1.

$329 ($400 reg) is crazy? A K1 is ~$100 more on sale, reg $800. Not that it's not a good machine, it is faster thx to the klipper firmware, but has less print volume. I personally look at where a company is headed too, not just what they're doing now. For example, FLSun's new T1, which is fully enclosed and has all of the features that the K1 has as well as a larger print volume, can print at speeds that are nearly twice as fast as the K1 and is only $600 reg. Their latest S1 is also fully enclosed with the same features, but it can print at a very impressive 1200mm/s with 40,000 mm/s^2 acceleration, and has a print volume that's larger than the K1 Max, and it sells for the same reg price. Same features, more work area, twice as fast, same price. But relatively speaking, this is a great machine compared to most others in the same price range. Not the fastest, but it's not the slowest (especially compared to cartesian printers) and the quality is much better than what I've received from their competition.

Hello. Can you expand on the pricing of the S1 and T! as the website shows no pricing at this time. I am looking at the V400 and later the panels. Other than those speeds I am just looking for fist layer consitency across the whole bed with the same duplicate parts being printed. The coreXY printers look good BUT not having the bed move leads to other printable configurations. (Pursa Delta printers if one could afford them). Cheers.@@JamesBiggar
