@@dariajordan4541 review homeostasis, mechanism of cell death such as apoptosis vs necrosis, oxygen balance such as local by obstruction vs ischemia and systemic by decrease in oxygen intake vs anemia. How local and systemic reflects hypoxia. Review cell stress and adaptation. Also when a cell injury is reversible or irreversible. Look into clips about fluid imbalances such as causes and lab cues. Refresh yourself with the autonomic nervous system and their receptors. Oh yeah, clips on pH. How the body compensation after diarrhea or after vomiting. Thermoregulation. Good luck

If a patient has a decreased thyroid function, what electrolyte should the nurse monitor then? Since for parathyroid you mentioned is calcium.

Mostly in hyperthyroidism potassium and sodium are elevated that's why patients tend to have tachycardia and elevated blood pressure, whereas I hypothyroidism sodium and potassium are low hence bradycardia and hypotension. Also, for patients who have hypothyroidism secondary to thyroidectomy, calcium levels may be low since the lower pair of parathyroid glands is usually affected during the procedure.
