In this video, you will watch Chadi a French judoka doing randori with a Japanese judoka.
This video will analyse the mistakes that Chadi made as well as the set ups the Japanese judoka did to throw him.
These set ups will help you to use uchi mata in randori and Shiai, also to avoid uchi mata when it is used against you.
I know that uchi matam is also ashi waza.

Uchi-mata is not an easy technique. Is very spectacular in randori or competition ... I think everyone can explain classical uchi-mata but to apply this technique in a randori is a little bit rocky. The mechanical of this throw: the forces, the speed & rotation, the hands and foot work and the " momentum " when to start this technique, the head of tori and the most important what other combination(s) should be used to trick Uke's balance and finally apply the spectacular uchi-mata. Practice and practice and practice ... overcome the resilience ! Thank you for posting this video. We learn from (others) mistakes !

Thank you for the good video. Your explanation of the details help me improve a lot. One detail that you can improve upon is if you can explain when an attack is used. So for instance, do you use uchi mata when an enemy is bend or standing up? When do you recognize when to attack? I would love to see a break-down of ashi waza in randori (de ashi barai especially). I find the timing of this throw to be very difficult. Thank you so much for the great video and thank you Chadi for participating

Hello For the type of ashi uchi mata depicted here it seems advantageous to have the tsurite hand below the opponents to strech his arm and lock the elbow. As I understand it, generally the stronger grip would be with one's own tsurite hand higher then the opponent's. Would I actively look for the tsurite hand below the opponent's or would I only perform this if I cannot get out of that grip? Thank you in advance!
@fluidjudojapan
@fluidjudojapan 10 ай бұрын
Thanks@gushlergushler🖐️ Thank you for asking good questions. I can't say this is true in all cases, but I think it's Basically more advantageous to have TSURITE from under, and it's easier to control the opponent. What kind of UCHIMATA is ASHI UCCHIMATA?

@@fluidjudojapan Thank you for your answer! I am probably using the terminology incorrectly but as far as I have been taught Ashi Uchimata refers to attacking the far leg of the opponent, the way it is classically taught and the way you showed it comparable to hane goshi on this channel. I have tried it last training session and flairing the tsurite elbow up to lock the opponents elbow works very well for attacking the near leg even though my form is not good at all yet.

More like the less you train stretching. And if you look closely, many of those throws didnt requie more than 90°, which IS very doable. What ive seen people do IS put too much Focus on the legs Drive (some even advice turning It into a hip throw) and not enough attention to the twisting movement.

Looks to me as if all of Chadi's training partners were heavier. So it is quite easy to do uchi mata, especially with Chadi's bent over posture, which invites this throw

@@fluidjudojapan In my experience it is more difficult if you have to fight somebody who is 10kg heavier than you. Especially if you get older and have to fight you aggressive and heavier players. If you have good technique you can manage. But if the heavier fighter knows how to use his weight then it gets really tricky. I mean, Ono Shohei also did not become All Japan Champion in the Open category even he had superior technique.

I can't speak for the Kodokan shodan examination, but randori is not typically part of examination. It is based on a general knowledge and demonstration of judo. Besides some of those other judoka have probably been training for many years and are far superior. Shodan is just a first step into a long judo career. Whenever somebody gets it we usually tell them "Know you're ready to learn."
@cucciafr68
@cucciafr68 Жыл бұрын
@@pedohammad If he took the exam and passed, then yes, he is a black belt. And how do you know it is a Shodan vs Shodan. We know Chadi is a Shodan but the people he is training could be all the way up to a Godan since they are not wearing a red and white striped belt. They could possibly have been a black belt much longer than Chadi has trained in a martial art. I know a bunch of black belts that just focus on kata and don't compete. You can have everyone in between.
@TheNEOverse

@@pedohammad Bear in mind that shodan in Japan is literally 'beginning degree'. They give those out a lot, it doesn't mean anything to them except that you're 'ready to learn'.
