Instructions were great. I also replaced my flush valve. When the gasket leaves black on your hand, you should replace it as the gasket has begun to deteriorate. Thanks for the great instructions for the other parts!

Trouble getting the flush handle to fit fully into the bowl? May have to file down a bit of the white plastic on square shaped shaft part of flush handle (only if it will not insert enough into the bowl). You’ll know this is the case if the black snap mechanism (with the cable) does not tightly click into place; Or it will fall apart when you move the handle. File The little angle sections you’ll see when you look at the square shaft when holding it horizontally.. File ONLY a little bit off at a time until you can get the handle to insert far enough into the bowl. Gently tighten that square plastic nut counterclockwise… You don’t want to break it. Before tightening, you can push the handle in, again carefully (should support the bowl with your other hand, so that you’re not pushing the bowl off the base of the toilet!).

Dude, you're supposed to align the fill tube so it faces Inside the tube, so it refills the water in the bowl, not the tank. The fill valve refills the tank!

Hey, Mihai, Thank you for your tip.. I guess I am a little confused as to what you are referring to. Mine seems to work fine.. but if I did it wrong I want to know so I can fix it.. Please elaborate if you have time... Thanks again :)

The picture in the instructions clearly show the tube going into the overflow, but when I did it that way, the tank never fills and the water just keeps going down the drain. When I did it the way you showed (at 17:26) then it works fine. Thanks for saving me a headache!

Geez, you guys don’t know the most basic things about a flush and are making instructional videos. Sheesh. The small black tube must send water down the overflow tube so the fill valve can fill water both into the tank AND the bowl. The blue attachment on the tube is a smart little gadget that you can use to slow the flow of water going to the bowl. You use the roller to squeeze the tube to restrict he flow as much as required. It always takes more water to fill the tank than the bowl so if you don’t adjust this flow, you’d be sending too much water to the bowl and all that extra water goes right down the drain. Waste.

what do you do if after you pout it in and it still slowly leeks ?
@ETPCYT6 жыл бұрын
there is a screw adjustment on the float.. that can turned to have the valve shut off earlier.. I would check that first... Try pulling the float up manually and see if your water stops... if that does it, just adjust the screw. if that is not the case you might have to adjust the seal at the bottom.. make sure it is free of debris and try to refit it.. I hope this helps my friend ;)

The wrenches are called "Plumber's Grips". Question: When you were doing the "Booger sucker" thing, why didn't you just dump the water into the flush hole inside the tank? A little more efficient, haha! Biggest thing I couldn't figure out, when removing the nut on the underside of the tank for the fill valve was whether you were gripping as you were turning the nut towards the bowl or away from the bowl. Thank you for this!

I'm embarrassed. "Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey". An old plumber's axiom that still rings true. Loosen the bottom tank nut by turning it away from the toilet bowl (to the left). ::forehead slaps::

Great Comment my friend, I don't know why I didn't dump the water in there lol. I think I was working harder not smarter! I was turning it to the left (lefty loosey, righty tighty) Sorry about the bad camera angle on that part. On another note this system has started not resetting it's position to neutral. Sometimes the handle gets stuck in the flush position and you have to move it back to the middle so it will not continue to flush. Have a great day friend!

Just got done swapping mine out. I heard you mention your house is 20-21 years old. Our's was built the same year I was born (71). I think it's still the original toilet and plumbing, haha! Ended up having to destroy the fill tube (both inside and outside) to get the bottom nut to come off. Couple things I've already caught... the fill line doesn't quite come up to where the old system did, even with me adjusting the floater. The other thing is that the half flush actually doesn't quite flush all the way, all the time. I'm pretty sure the two issues are related to each other. Now, to train the family on how to use the half flush... haha! --Doug

Thanks again for the comment, Doug. I am not a plumber but I think you can buy a longer fill tube which would give you a little more water with your "small flush". Have a great day!

Before you invest money and time in this Duoflush, take a look at the lid to the water holding tank. If the tank was mounted too close to the back wall, the lid to the tank will be pushed forward, AND the lever won't work. To flush the yellow and save water, the lever must be able to be lifted up. The overhang of the tank lid won't allow this movement, and you're going to have to flush down every time and waste water. This unit won't work on two of my three toilets.

reinstall the handle and turn it 90 degrees downward so the handle is pointing down. To flush, follow the sign on the handle and turn the handle to left/right instead of up/down.

Fluidmaster Duoflush is a complete nightmare! It makes the toilet run constantly! What a hassle!

Hey, JR. I installed 3 of these... one runs a little unless you manually toggle the toilet flush lever back into place. It's a little annoying at times :P

I have not problem with the video it is Fluidmasters product ere itself! I put this in my toilet and it has been a nightmare ever since! I used everything that came with it and the handle constantly moves. Also since the handle does not sit right this causes the flap NOT to shut like it should which in turn causes the toilet to run, run, and run. While I thought this would be a good way to cut down on the amount of water used my the toilet the product itself seemed very cheap and works like GARBAGE! I have never had a problem with fluidmaster and will keep using them but this JUNK don't waste your money on!!
@ETPCYT6 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue with the handle I think.. It does lock into place. Also recently, it has not been resetting by itself so when you flush it you have to manually flip the handle up and down then center it so it will stop running. This only occurs once in a while and now that I know how to fix it, not a big deal. :)
