I've worked out of a bucket a time or two, and they've pretty much ended up being mediocre storage in the truck. I'm trying, now, to get enough free time to build a drawer unit to replace the buckets and the portable toolbox. I've got a set of cordura toolbags with both suspenders and carry handles that I use if I need more tools than I can carry in my pockets.

Hi Ken! Sounds like a great storage system!

Nice. I'd throw in a small magnet bowl for tossing parts into while working. Does it come with a cup holder? 😊😊

No, the zippered pocket isn't big enough for an UGLY's manual.

Can someone answer this or am I missing something. Main box has a 70 amp breaker running to sub panel at well. Sub panel at well has a 20 and 30 amp breaker inside. The wire between the 2 is about 110 ft. All number 6. Why would there be a 70 amp on a 6 wire. There is solar with battery backup at house but that shouldn’t change anything I’m confused on a 70 amp breaker running 6 size wire
@SparkyChannel Жыл бұрын
I think #4 would be more appropriate. I suggest looking it up on the NEC tables.
@Mike-b3v Жыл бұрын
@@SparkyChannel I have. Every book and code tells me 70 is wrong for a 6. Reason. The company who did it also did the solar and they swear up and down it’s supposed to be a 70 amp. I can not find ANYTHING that confirms this. When I confronted them about this they hung up and now no reply. I don’t do solar so I asked if anyone on earth could tell me the reason. Lol

Random question but is it possible that my grandmothers house can be fully rewired just from the attic crawl space? It’s a single story house and the attic is the same width and length of the house . I plan to use 10 AWG wires for 20 amp circuits, 8 awg for 30a, 6 awg for 40a, and 4 for 50a Does it seem reasonable? Reason why I pick the wire sizes greater than the amps that will be pulled is because I want it to last a long time. The house is from 1959 with the 2 prong receptacles. EDIT: Is this also code compliant? I am using MC cable Incase we ever get a rat infestation.
@kenbrown2808 Жыл бұрын
overwiring it like that is going to be a major headache for you. basically, you will be able to fit the oversized conductors on the range and dryer plugs, and everything else will need to be pigtailed down. you're much better off running more circuits with properly sized wire. as for dropping everything from the attic, it all depends on whether you can get above the tops of the walls by crawling in the attic. and you are really the only person who can answer that question. the question you need to ask yourself is if the current wall finish and cabinetry is so special to you that it is worth tripling or quadrupling the work it will take to fish wire down from the attic. and again, that is a question only you can answer.
@SparkyChannel Жыл бұрын
Good answers Ken. I would add that it's probably easier to do the change-out from underneath the house. If you're re-wiring from the attic, you have to be prepared to run into a good number of fire breaks at 4'.
@kenbrown2808 Жыл бұрын
@@SparkyChannel a house that age, I'm not expecting firebreaks, but it's pretty likely, to have 6 inches to get a drill above the wall cap to drill down.
@owensanders7432 Жыл бұрын
@@SparkyChannel I’ve looked several times in the drywall and seen no fire breaks.
@owensanders7432 Жыл бұрын
@@kenbrown2808 Another reason why is because the house is very long and we use many appliances and it might cause a voltage drop over 5% which is not code compliant (12 awg)
