Hmm,let's see. No music. No talking. Sound of tools being used. Technically, you've just made an ASMR video that cyclists in particular would enjoy. Also, this restoration only made the bike more 90s-esque than it was,in terms of the paint job.And I really enjoyed watching this.

Everytime I find a really cool bike, Rob's already done a rebuild of one on his channel. Never disappoints! The bike I just found is a 1991 Technium Peak, so the top of the range model. It's an absolute time capsule that I am not even kidding was never rode. There is zero, zip, zilch wear on the chainrings and cogs. The tires still have mold release compound on every square inch of tread. The original Ritchey Megabite tires are incredibly supple. I've never seen a bike in this good of shape in the 20 years I've been buying and selling vintage mountain bikes. It's going to be hard letting go of this one. As always, it's a pleasure to was these videos, this one especially with my Peak sitting in front of my TV.

I've got a 1999 GT Rebound in Solar Citrus (chartreuse basically), that the current bike shortage/price inflation is forcing me to refurbish. I watch videos like this to give me courage, but all they do is intimidate me, and not simply because I don't have any of your tools. Otherwise it's a pleasure to watch.

Eye catching! Nice job on the seat also. I just restored a 20 year old Selle Comfort saddle. Worst part was finding a comparable foam to fill in a worn section on the left cheek (motorcycle seat foam worked!). From the amount of wear it must have been someone's favorite saddle! Thanks for the content, very inspiring.

beauitiful lugged frame with these side cable cable guides. The fluo-bare steel color shceme is contrasting really well. And these pure 90s hologram decals are toping it all up. another great build. The only thing I would add is maybe a front mech chain guide and apply some oracal protective patches on the cranks because surely the paint will get scrachted off fast. especially when riding in ordinary sneakers.

Say, I wish travel was reasonable again, you could come to Arizona and ride with me and my adult kids through the mountains. It's only 105F this week. It will get hot pretty soon.... Thanks! BTW, I had no idea Brooks made that style saddle in the day. I exclusively use B17's since 1956, and will continue throughout this century. (A little delusion can't hurt, can it)?

I saw $15 and nearly cried! Wish there were thrift stores over here. My friend had this exact model (badged Technium Chill for the UK market) but sadly killed it because the cr-mo DX seatpost completely fused with the alu seat tube thanks to bimetallic corrosion and poor maintenance. Anyway, will definitely be putting those grips and tyres on my next build. Was going to film it for my channel but you just made me realise I could never compete on attention to detail.

I worked at Raleigh in Seattle in 1991, very good chance I painted that thing, they were made with Easton e9 tubing (main triangle)( I believe they called it "Technium") bonded at the bottom bracket, seat tube and head tube and down tube.(they claimed the epoxy used was the same as the space shuttle used for bonding the heat tiles on) honestly I'm surprised it lasted this long...

As soon as I saw it was a bonded frame, I said 'he should polish the aluminium and paint the steel'. I was surprised that I was right on the money, (because it's likely what I would have done) but I wasn't prepared for that yellow. That Raleigh might be more 90s than the 90s actually were. I'm very interested in trying the spray.bike products on my daily rider 70s Raleigh, after seeing its results on your channel. maybe black combined with a keirin sunlight. My eyes can't really do the fluoro.

nice cleaning. one remark on cantilevers: these work the most powerful, if the pulling parts of the cable (here right side grey housing, left side short cable with extra knob), are 90 degrees to the line of the cantilvers (between screw in frame and where the pulling cables meet the brakes). so, the shimano thingie shown here is useless. what you would want to use is the part which was used also on the U brake of the ritchey build. there you'll need an old cable to put across, but much shorter so your triangle gets closer to the tyre until you reach 90 degrees (or as close as possible). of course hanging out the cable will be somewhat harder due to no 2nd knob on it. also, the brakes will apply more force, yet retreat much less. so if you have a badly trued wheel, this might cause rubbing. (of course, on the ritchey U brake you would apply the same principle, the pulling cable was way too long. also on the front paul canties... just my 2 cents :)
