Was an awesome night fluorescent hunting Mappleton, i found Ammonites, Dragon Eggs, Fossils, and something i never would have expected at 3:00am in the morning alone in the dark on the East Yorkshire coast, i spooked out!! Watch until the end to find out more.....

Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the adventure! It sure was an interesting night! I have been back there since to do another night hunt, it wasn't so scary this time, but i did see another balloon fly past, only this time it had 'Love' on it so it was a nice time that night lol. Thanks for joining me, take good care!! Untill next time 🙏

Didn't you? ahh not to worry, there are plenty more times to check it out my friend, shame i got spooked there lol as i wanted to be there ALOT longer! Damn ghosts or chimp with sunglasses in my case!! Am heading back there in a week or so during another coast & quarry crawl. Glad you enjoyed the vid, it was fun making it i must say! Take super good care my friend, and Big UP for getting up & down that cliff the night we linked up! I hope the uv footage came out on your phone? All the best my friend, Respect! Rasta Bless 🙏

Do you find much amber on the beaches around here (it’s so expensive to buy)…it would be great if there was an amber hot spot in the uk. 😁👍🏻💕

I haven't actually found any amber yet, thought i would have by now, but the trouble is these days is that the wind farms out at sea seem to tame the tides a bit reducing the amount of amber washed up, i live in Norfolk which has been nutorious for finding amber, but since they put up the sea defence it appears hardly any amber is washed up here aswell, finding decent amber now seems like a thing of the past sadly, maybe why it's so expensive, but i'll always be keeping my eyes out for it because i know people do still find the odd bit now and then. The Suffolk coast can apparently be good for collecting amber in a windy rough sea, never been to Suffolk but maybe one day. Take care and enjoy the vids 👍⛏💎❤

Very interesting and fun to watch as always! Were you able to ever get the Wu UVC light fixed? I think that beach glass probably actually is uranium glass. Much of the time the actual amount of uranium in U glass is so scant, sometimes less than a single percent (but still brightly fluorescent!), that it's barely detectable at all with anything but the most sensitive α, β, γ pancake detectors. If it is not uranium glass, it must be manganese glass. In Ye Oalden Dayes of the 19th century they used to add manganese dioxide to glass to clarify it of the green tinge it would otherwise have from trace iron in the glass. They called it "glassmaker's soap" because it "washed" the glass' color away. It also makes the glass brightly green-yellow fluorescent. There are two other ways to tell what you have is either U or Mn doped. Mn doped glass will also phosphoresce for a fraction of a second. Uranium glass shows no phosphorescence at all, but with the manganese glass if you close your eyes when the UV is on and open them the instant you shut it off, you will be able to see a faint and rapidly decaying glow as the green fades out to an orangey color. It's easier to see if you record it with your phone's slow-motion video mode. The other way to tell is by using blue or violet light, the fluorescence of the manganese glass will be dramatically reduced at these wavelengths compared with 365, but the uranium glass will happily fluoresce just as brightly at either one.

Awesome! Thank you dear Muonium1, very interesting read about the U glass, the weird thing is when i tested the glass round my friends house it set the alarm off at the lowest threshold of 0.6, but now every time i test it there is zero reading, very strange, so i mentioned in the video that it was not radioactive, only that first test out of many showed a reading, so i guess it was fair to say not radioactive. It certainly shows the fluorescence of U, and what you say about Manganese is really interesting, i have some Fluorite from Bulgaria which has Manganese impurity and it fluoresces bright red, nice to hear Manganese can also fluoresce green too 👍 I shall definatly perform some more tests as you mentioned, i really enjoy your knowledge and it will be exciting to try. I Still need to get one of those IR pens and suitable safety glasses you talked about, but i will get one at some point. Indeed i did recieve a replacemnent torch from the honourable Mr. Wu, he is so kind, he even sent me a replacement driver board to replace and fix my old torch if i feel brave enough to try. Top banana is Raymond! You may notice i don't really use the SW much for hunting in my videos, it's generally because i seem to get much brighter reaction response from the minerals here with LW, i haven't really found anything that 'pings' from a distance with SW, and the camera finds it hard to pick up, but my hunting days have just begun so when i get to more places in the UK it may be a different story, i know of a place called the Mendip Hills (or Mendips) in Somerset, you may have heard of it, but i have some very strong SW responsive calcite from there i purchased online, so i know it is about, and in Scotland the Agates glow green as im sure your aware, so i have all that to come as yet hopefully. I need to do more research for SW mineral localities in the UK, but that kind info seems limited here, and most precious minerals are of course kept a secret. Glad you enjoyed the vid, it was a fun and edgy night, i can't wait to go back to Mappleton with some Ectoplasm next time 😁 Any tips and suggestions to make the magic world of UV more exciting and interesting are always welcome my friend, keep then coming!! Respects to you good Sir 🙏

@Muonium1 I'v been meaning to show you something here in the UK if you don't know already, i think you will like it, South Terras Mine UK, haven't been myself but i do have some powerful pitchblend from there, i wonder if anything would fluoresce there? Ain't sure i wanna fluoro hunt that place though, not sure if i can post links to youtube in comments but here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXixoIyXjrmsprs

@@UKFluorescentMineralHunter Interesting, I did not know of this radioactive spot. It doesn't look TOO scary to me, if I went I would wear a mask to avoid inhaling the dust from collecting though. Fluorites, if present should be darkly colored from the F-center formation due to gamma ray exposure over eons. Glad to hear you got a replacement UVC light! I'm looking forward to seeing the calcite material you mention and whether it is the Terlingua type or the manganese type calcite fluorescence....

@@Muonium1 Look no further my friend... i have a vid already on my channel., not sure if you have seen it already but it is of the Calcite i speak about, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmnNXnd-oNqAlZo . Regarding South Terras Mine, yes it's not toooo hot, but i think the dust particles are the problem, sticks to shoes, clothes etc, if i did go it would only be to test my geiger counter but it's just too far from me. By the look of it there is only Iron, Tin and Urainum to be found, Urainium being in Pitchblend, i do own some Pitchblend from there, but no fluorescence that im aware of, if i can't fluoro-hunt the place i probably won't bother going. It just amazes me how the goverment didn't fence it off blah blah.... ☢😬 Interesting to know about the gamma ray exposure over eons effecting the fluorite color, gonna look into that, i should really thouroughly test these quarries i visit for radioactive spots if any, i'd love to find some natural Autunite, i have a beautiful sample of Autunite here from Cornwall, i bought it but it had an exact location tag with it 😁 I'm on it one day, Autunite PINGS out of this world with all my torches, that would make a NICE vid 👌 Enjoy the Calcite, it's such a beautiful piece

@@UKFluorescentMineralHunter oh I forgot about that calcite piece! haha, oops. The colors of fluorite are some of the most complex and baffling in all the mineral world. So far as I know it is capable of taking on every color in the rainbow. There is a really great talk on here from Blue Cap Productions by Virgil Lueth titled "Exploration into the Cause of Color in Fluorite". Did I already pester you with my autunite experiment request? I can't remember 🤣 If so I won't again...
