I agree that LED tubelights are beneficial in terms of power consumption etc. But I do not like them at all because they are too bright and the blue content (high energy end of the visible light spectrum or UV light) thus giving a bright white emission. These days I see all the commercial display boards are LED based and at an extreme level of brightness. After the sunset, these lights are indeed blinding to the eye making everything else around the bright source invisible. Some people using LED based headlights in their bikes and cars are really blinding at night time. I hope many will agree with me. I would at least put a ban on LED headlights in automobiles if I have the power.

These days if you visit an electrical shop and ask for a normal tube light the shop owner will look at you like you are from another planet. They simply do not keep the tube light and sell only LED based tube lights (lack of demand). This is because of our addiction to anything that comes at a low price ignoring the long time ill effects it creates. LED has the downside of high UV light content and high brightness that is not good for our vision in the long run.
