Electronics engineer here, 20watts or any wattage specified on an electrical appliance is the maximum rated power consumption of that device. For a light bulb or any light source, if it producing X Lumens at a lower wattage, it means it is more efficient than the other, in the comparison with Surya LED bulb, if it is producing the same Lumens as wipro, it is more efficient, which makes sense as it uses a more efficient white SMD LED, the driving circuit also plays a part but is redundant here. As a final note, I would like to say that the main criteria for a light source should be it's Lumens production capacity and longevity, the company GE makes excellent bulbs in this regard. Thank you, hope this provides clarity on some of the points you have discussed in your video.
@buyingfacts9 ай бұрын
If they give super energy efficient LEDs then they can simply change the power to lower value and mention high energy savings in labels. You missed the point here, Wipro, Phillips, Crompton etc uses the same 70 mA LEDs. As I mentioned the concept is 100 Lumens per watts. You can watch our Bulb video for more clarity. Also we made a video on Phillips night light, where your point is written on water, because the watts is 100% higher than the spec.

@@buyingfacts diodes and other semiconductor devices cannot achieve 100% efficiency, Manufacturing high efficiency devices cost money, hence companies look to strike a balance efficiency and cost, this is simple economics of scale. Not all companies source their LEDs from the same manufacturer and each batch of LEDs have different datasheets. I understood your point, I only sought to help you understand the industry. I sense the hostility from your comments and I assure you, I do not intend to doubt your sincerity, only your knowledge of the same. I now realize as a content creator in India you need to strike a balance between entertainment and informative videos and to that end, I see the need for such sensationalist content. Coming to your other part of the comment on the bulb marketed as zero watt having a power rating of 0.5 while in your partial testing using just current reading - showing 3+ watts, if you account for the power factor, you will be able to calculate the power drawn by the bulb. The need for using power factor is because the source used is an Alternating Current of 220-230 Volts at 50 Hertz. I hope you understand these concepts for yourself and for your further videos. I wish you all the best with your content and pray you include more accurate information in your content so the community can learn and help move the society forward, I do not condone your use of sensationalism, but only ask you do your due diligence and provide accurate information at the end of your videos. Thank you.

If any perticular colour need to produce there should be variation in primary colour LEDs so power consumption will vary, so it's not wonder of change in power. Please check the power at bright white, may be possible of maximum power deliver and luminous. Irrespective of components nameplate ratings are for the full load. Expecting your comment on this .

Nanba, that white light is the combination of RGB leds. If 3 leds gives 18W (RGB glow) , then each led (colour) will give average of 6W . Depends on the colour/brightness the Watts will get differ. To get 18w, all 3 leds should glow in full brightness. Which is 6500K white. If we expect Individual primary colour to give 18W, then the white will be ratted to 54W avg. What is rated there by manufacturer is the maximum watts. Please correct me if I am wrong or missing some point. I am always looking to learn something from this community 🙂. Thank you.

These are RGB LEDs basically, so to achieve white light, all 3 LEDs have to glow and thus consuming more power and giving the maximum brightness, for other colour modes it is not possible practically unless complete hardware optimisation is done which will drastically improve the LED as well as controller cost of production

In white colour all three primary color (red, blue, green) lights will be on. Hence utilising maximum wattage and provides maximum lux. For other colours not all three color lights will be on, hence you may get 1/3 to 1/2 brightness only. That is how it's designed to perform it's required function.

We appreciate you effort doing painful test. There is something which I think you should consider. You know well that Multicolor light is driven by RGB led. Various color are produced by varying current to individual color LEDs. For example if we have to produce Red we have turn on RED LED turn off other two Color LED. Obviously it will reduce current consumption. Electrical Energy used directly proportional to Light emitted. So low LUX. I do not think it is possible to produce a multicolor LED with equal wattage for every color. Guess, everybody knows that color lights will be low intensity and will not able for normal lighting purpose. I would assume that no one using color lights for working purpose. As you said it is possible to get 20w Red or 20w Green or 20w Blue LED strip to if it is used for specific purpose.

Less watts na less power consumption dhaana.. so it should be efficient only la?
@sudharsansuresh14528 ай бұрын
Bro, Oru doubt. To my understanding white light is composed of all primary colors from red, lowest frequency till the highest frequency, blue. Energy released is also proportional to the frequency. Red has lower power than blue, proved by your demonstration. Similarly for white light, all frequencies need to be present, hence the highest power output than the individual colors. A manufacturer cannot produce a light source with same brightness of all individual colors and also with white color. It can only be done if they have a brightness limiter just for white color which may work but adds cost and serves less purpose. Looks like the main purpose of this device is entertainment. So, cost should not be a concern for the buyer and hence, has to buy more such lights to get more fun, I guess.
@santhosh_mankali9 ай бұрын
Aiyo bro, little confused. Less Watt is less power consumption and less electricity bill right? I understand that less Watt is less output too. We generally use White light for brightness and other colors for dull environment. When we use color, we don't want our ambience to be too bright like white, so that's why they are sourcing less Watt for colors? Are they multicolored LEDs? Same PED glows white and other colors or different RGB LEDs in that tubelight? If color LEDs are different than white, their placement might be different so that's why less lux? Please explain.

Can some one confirm whether they can produce all RGB color LED lights separately at 20w and specified lumens equally? because from what I know color LED lights have RBG combined and when one light is on, other 2 are off, and so the low power and lumens happened. This is science , not a scam I think. And many colour light buyers don’t need it to be bright though, because the need for their mental peace. Even for partying we wouldn’t need bright lights. And lastly if it uses less power it’s more efficient and saves EB bill.
