I would like to thank The Print for an unbias review of the sujanpur. Rahul gandhi did not do any work and smriti irani did some work. I hope the elected representative take this review into consideration and work better. The scheme which provide construction of toilettes and house won' t be covering everyone, but a good start.

What has not been done in 50-60years under congress rule, cannot be flipped and made to look like a town with every amenities in 5 years . Needs time and the red tapes for development cut off( acquiring and developing the land to widen roads , lay out pipelines for water etc ) and have funding from state and central govt ,bring in private firms and have them bid for the development.

When you show broken roads and such, please do make it a point to show which of the roads are under which jurisdiction. The kachcha road with water logging is a local village lane which is to be maintained by the local panchayat not the MLA or the MP. The MP is responsible for national highways, education, etc. the MLA is responsible for state highways and providing funds to local villages. Be a little more careful in making overarching statements or imolying them.

The Print reporter and similarly other reporters never ask the citizens, what was their contribution in terms of sweat, active participation and self governance in improving their conditions. To amplify; when government schemes are executed by the executing agency, did villagers participate as stake holders in planning, monitoring execution of the work and rendering feed back to the government agency? I am actively involved in rural socio-economic development schemes. My experience is that a large percentage of the beneficiaries do not take ownership of infrastructure created by the schemes in terms of their correct/equitable usage, maintenance and upkeep. The main reason being lack of leadership at gram panchayat level and internal discord in village communities.

The plan was superb and modi should be appreciated to think like that! If the same was done by earlier leaders we would have much better picture! But the thing is, implementation is poor! Sad part is many will work many won't! Opposition the most will not work thinking they are not in power rather than working for the people! How much will it cost to make a village sustainable and good? in 5 years MP has 25cr rs! accord at least 50 lakh per year! that amounts to 2.5cr rs!!! you don't have to build house, road, highways, tap water connection, broad band connection! All of these will be done by central and state government and if they deny it make it an issue! Do protest, highlight that in media, in sansad, in assembly! Force them to do it! Now the major infra burden been taken off by central and state, you can't make any change to a village for 2.5cr rs?

To be honest having toilets under scheme is not mp' s job people can avail funds under the scheme and make them in their own houses, same goes for sump . Village level doesn't require full drainage system it's sumps in or around people's homes. So smriti did work on social infra which government should take care. Now rest has to be done by people. Village roads are under gram panchayat, She can pull ears of Pradhan for not doing his job
