Despite being situated in an elite neighbourhood of South Delhi with markets and restaurants all across the streets, the residents of Kusumpur Pahadi slum fight for water every day. Narrow lanes, poor drainage systems, irregular water access and long queues summarise the sight of this slum. Our team visited Kusumpur Pahadi and spoke to the residents about their lives and daily struggles for a necessity - water.

When I was a kid, I lived in a similar neighborhood in Mumbai. At the time my mother used to bring about 40 L of water home. Just like women here, she would make two trips, carrying 20L each trip for over 300m and 2 floors while my dad was at work. What viewers should also know is that the labor endured here has lasting effects in your life that you only see when you're getting old. Your knees would hurt, you develop back issues, joint issues etc. Thankfully, we eventually moved out of that neighborhood to somewhere much much better. Water is a human right. I am shocked that this is the reality still for a lot of people in the country. I see my mother in every woman here trying to get water for her family. Thanks for making this video! Much love!

Also, AAP promised 24 hours of water supply but even today I have to wake up at 3-4 AM to start the water motor to fill the watertank. I hope the Delhi government listens to it's citizen.

A work which can be done in a month if focused properly. All the drains and road repair and proper plan for water distribution can all be solved in a month.
