Interesting experiencing this aspect of the city. Your personal commentary makes it all that much more enjoyable. Thinks for providing this stroll. This Old Guy like very much!!

Main St. Flushing never disappoints with all its" activity and crowds. That was funny with the umbrella lady. People need to watch their 'umbrella manners" Thanks for the IT information. I know so little about it and when I have computer issues, I panic. and call Cox. Great walk with great weather.

Fantastic Video! Your video brought back a lot of cherished memories for me! I was born in Flushing, NY and spent many summers there visiting my relatives. Then, I would regularly stay in Flushing when I would visit NYC. Your video cured my homesickness - I have not been able to visit NYC or stay in Flushing in close to two years! Thank you so much!!

0:16 Why are the last sections of the platform railed off? Flushing sure is different than it was 60 years ago. I think I see Fran Drescher.

Flushing is such an interesting part of NYC. I think people forget about what a melting pot the USA is. I love that you can find such a variety of cultures, food and environments in NYC. Small town America is great but, cities are so interesting and give people a better understanding of the world. It's the next best thing to travel.

15:28 What’s the purpose of that chimney at the curb?
@StrideWarrior3 ай бұрын
If you are talking about the Red Standpipes at 15:45 mark - Those are Dry Standpipes - used to transfer water to another location for the Fire Department. Those most likely lead down to the subway. The train platforms I was walking at the beginning of the video are right under that spot.

@@StrideWarrior Actually, a little before that around 15:28. There’s a guy in a blue shirt and a dark cap standing next to it.

That is most likely some sort of ventilation for the subway station below.

@@StrideWarrior Thanks, sounds logical. I’m a little worn out from watching you walk so I’ll have to take a nap. If you make it as far as Flushing Meadows Park, don’t miss the Picture Phone demo at the Bell Telephone pavilion.
