Thank you for objectively playing the same things on each instrument. Super helpful! Di Zhao 501 chose me. It is superb for pro pit doubling.

Well, i've tried a pearl 695, amadeus 780 se, and now i have the azumi z3, for me the pearl i loved, in tone color, but low register is really, really hard, i have small hands, and it just doesn't work, high notes where super easy though, then the amadeus is really heavy for me, and the mechanics also, takes more effort, but low register comes out good, and high as well, but harder then the pearl, also i have to play it more higer on my lip, to get a proper tone, witch makes me squeeze more. Then the azumi, i really don't like, it's very light though, and low register comes easy, but anything above high E is hard for me, G even starts to crack. And the tone is to thin for me. What i did is contact a flute repair shop, what he said to me gives me an other inside to choose my next flute, he said that a pearl, ofthen needs more repairs, and he suggested a sonare, so i'm gonna try that one, hopefully it will play easy in high and low register.

This is so helpful! Which of the 3 headjoints are you using on your Pearl Quantz 765? And are you using the Z or the S head with Azumi?

I’m pretty sure all Azumis come with the Z cut now. It may have been different at one point, but the Azumi I bought back in 2008 ish had the Z cut, as does the AZ3 I currently own.
