I just purchased a Haynes Q Fusion flute that has a wonderful sound with a "P" cut headjoint. I am feeling a strong resistance in the upper register and am struggling with the very high notes above F starting with F sharp up to C. The lower and middle registers are fabulous. Do you think an "N" cut would work better with the upper register and have less resistance to produce a clear and centered tone on those high notes?

Haynes don’t - currently - offer the Q Fusion with an N cut headjoint. We hear it’s in the works, so watch this space: from what you’ve said it sounds like it would be worth you trying that headjoint when it’s available.
