I've built incredibly advanced apps on Appgyver. And I prefer using a source like Xano since they are so powerful. Appgyvers Logic engine is by far the most powerful of any platform. It's absolutely incredible what can accomplished. BUT. For the next version of our app, I'll likely switch to Flutterflow for the the reason stated above. SUPPORT. Appgyver has been far too slow to develop and respond to changes and needs. While new comers like Flutterflow are accomplishing things left right and center. It's really sad that such a powerful platform was left underdeveloped. Appgyver could have been the best. but the ball was dropped. And Flutterflow and others picked it up... Oh well, I'll jump into flutter flow when I have the time.

Hi Doc, thanks for the information its really helpful to make better informed decision a specific problem that need to be solved. I want to build a desktop app for data capturing, that will also have a mobile app. I have been thinking of flutterflow, but I would like to hear your opinion on which platform is better to use. Hi Doc, Thanks for this very helpful video. I myself am stuck between these two. Appgyver is free and had my first attention. FlutterFlow has different plans and the free plan looks interesting. After watching your video, I also was going more towards FlutterFlow. But after checking out more things, there is something I am stuck with. True, Flutterflow has a free plan. So I thought I would try it. All goes well until you want to deploy your app. Only with a paid plan could you create an Android APK (not sure what it is called for iOS). Only with a paid plan, you can download the source code. I just want to create an app for private or internal use only. I don't need to publish it in Google Play Store or the App Store. How about that? But if I understand it right, if you want to create the app for iOS, you need to pay $99 per month to have some kind of developer rights/certificate. Else you cannot create the app. I hope you could clear up some things for me. I like FlutterFlow, so far, but the idea to pay $99 per month, is way too much for me, for something that will be used private or internal in the organization. If there is a way to deploy your app for free, I am all for it. And maybe you could tell me how. I hope you understand my question and I am looking forward to your reply/advice. Many thanks in advance for your tie and effort. 🙂

Hey Pierre! Great question! Just answered them in your other comment. There are other options- if you want a simple internal app that tracks what you're doing I would prob go with Softr www.softr.io/?via=doc or Glide Apps www.glideapps.com/

I must disagree on this one, Doc. FF has great potentials, but right now it's support sucks even on paid plans. Then there is the bugginess, especially when it comes to APIs. I've been exploring AG for the last week, and I've made much more progress. especially with APIs. I'll keep an eye on FF, but I'm going with AG for now.

I'm working on a couple of them, both dealing with marketing and funnels. One will make heavy use of Twilio's voice and SMS API. The other one is also an API backend app using a less robust and clunky real estate API. Both are SaaS platforms. I've found AppGyver really capable with both projects. BTW, I saw you on the AppSumo talk earlier this week...wish I could make it live, but the recording session was great!

Thanks for the content Doc, been researching for a few weeks for our next project and your content has been helpful . Seems like a huge difference is access to Native sensors since AppGyver allows access but Flutterflow does not. Am i missing something regarding sensors? Or do most people building apps not need access to the sensors? Seems like sensors are one of the major advantage to a native app vs PWA.

Hey Josh great question! This depends on the exact functionality you need. Your question regarding do most people building apps not need access to the sensors- that just depends on what type of app your building and who your target client is. For example flutter does allow for provide access to the phone sensors e.g. geolocation but do you another feature as well? If you need more things that can be for google cloud platform like cloud vision API for scanning items, Appsheet about.appsheet.com/home/ might be better. It all depends. I would start with the validation stage- do you have paying clients yet? Hope this helps! Take care!

Hey I’ve done comparisons with appsheet in the past to other tools. I like both platforms but really depends on the exact feature you’re looking for both. Based on pricing Appsheet is best for more internal use at a company.

Depends on the platform you use- Appgyver you can launch for free, FlutterFlow you need to use the Pro plan. Check out their pricing for the current price.

It's a chat app where we have group chat, a calender to post events, a screen to post pics and a home screen where the youth leader can post daily Bible verses, id like to link it to a Bible app or site if possible. What app builder will work best for all of that? I'd also rather not pay for anything

It would be very difficult to use appgyver in it's current state to do that. And because of the 3rd party database you would need it would be more expensive than other platforms that have specific marketplace templates like Softr or Sharetribe. Hope that helps, take care!

Glad you liked the content! It really depends. If I'm focused on web based- bubble. If I'm focused on native mobile- Flutterflow. I think it first comes down to where you are in your process. Are you validating your idea? Do you have customers yet?

The app will consist of many images and videos. The good point about Flutterflow is the ability to obtain the code. I am not so sure whether Flutterflow allows external /third party hosting or not? I also thought of Wappler but the learning curve is steep for me and may take very long.
