Stunning is the right word. I have tried to shape my life by these words. "The world will spin with or without you. You really don't matter in the end."
@donvandamnjohnsonlongfella12398 жыл бұрын
Well maybe you take the weight of: your actions, your thoughts, and your words off your shoulders but that doesn't make it true. It all matters. One life affects another life and all these lives affect: each others lives, our societies, and our habitats, what we think, what we do and how we live. Without a star the planets wouldn't have formed to revolve around it. Without each planet in its rightful place this world would not exist. Without atoms coming together to form molecules, to form flesh, to form beings we would not exist. Once beings exist they gain consciousness on one level or another and in turn share resources and ideas with one another. It all matters even when we think it doesn't. Living a life where our thoughts and actions are filled with purpose or living a life where we act without thinking and live without knowing of the end results of our actions of our words that we share with one another. Your life will touch all the lives you come into contact with one way or another and in turn waves will ripple through time touching other lives: human, animal, plant, rocks and one day even the stars. It all matters. It all matters.

Just to be clear - I think the Always Wear Sunscreen is horrible and kills the movie. It's the antithesis of the film - a cheesey, Hallmark piece of pablum. I'm sure it was tacked on to satisfy the suits. Everything before that is what is stunning.

I have a different opinion of what it means to be a Human Being. They died off when we stopped being hunters and gatherers. Now we are just consumers living under the chains of modern society built by Merchant Whores that enslave the minds and bodies of the people and exploit them and all the resources of the natural world just to make money and live like fat pigs. Most of us have no idea how to be a Human Being and wouldn't want to be because living the life of a Human Being is too hard.

This scene is amazing. However, one thing I've learned is that what Larry is talking about, that "character" that can only be borne from regret, is that what you regret has to feel like it was unquestionably the right decision at the time. And only later do you realize it was the entirely wrong decision. That is true regret, and that brings true character.

A life without meaning is also a lie and complete bullshit. :p Feel free to read my other responses to people that make my point of why what we think, what we say, and what we do has meaning. This entire monologue is a great big pile of shit.

Jesse Bowman Everything is meaningless. You may think it has meaning.. but it dosnt, the universe will die, and nothing will come of anything. there is no meaning to any of it.
@donvandamnjohnsonlongfella12398 жыл бұрын
Aaron James I feel sorry for your point of view on life. You must live a very sad life if you feel nothing you do or say or think has meaning. The universe and life exist moment to moment and you have no idea when it will end. What you do with this moment matters in the next moment. I hope not many people think like you.
@aaronstately8 жыл бұрын
Jesse Bowman To clarify, i mean it has no objective meaning. For some, working hard, helping others is meaningfull. For some others enslaving others is meaningful. Anyone can derive meaning from the world... but it is all subjective, and when you die it is gone for ever....therefor meaningless. If you say the universe is meaningful, that is a teleological question..
@donvandamnjohnsonlongfella12398 жыл бұрын
Aaron James A life without meaning has no purpose and so such people who believe as such will live a hollow existence. I won't be such a lowly creature. My life has meaning. Everything I think, I say, and I do has meaning and so does the thoughts, words shared, and actions taken and not taken of others has meaning in their lives and in mine. You can belittle the lives of every being in the Universe and say that each moment has no meaning because it doesn't last forever but because we don't last forever that makes each moment that much more meaningful for our short lives in one form or another. Another mortal upset with the fact they aren't immortal beings and so seek to infer that our existence is without meaning. Very sad point of view on life and the universe.

There is a huge difference in marketing Jesus and marketing lubricants. By being an agent, a witness to our Lord Jesus Christ you give freely eternal life by the Grace of God. There is no money or sales receipt. No contracts or special orders. All God wants is for you to spend time with Him. At your own leisure. Not on sundays, any day. Hopefull everyday. Whoever wrote about character for Devito to express, was dead on. No doubt. But Gods Love is and always be given freely to those who ask for Him. God be with you. Peace.

@@jgjg3848 marketing must mean offering salvation to the lost. Its all about whether one goes up or down. Life is one long test. A marketing test if you will. Either one accepts the free gift with no strings attached or they opt for the flames. Its all or nothing with Christ. This marketing offer is only available to the general public while there is still breath in their lungs. Once we die, its a one way ticket. Up or down. Thats what my billboard says.
