I had a teacher like him in 5th or 6th grade. I was a white kid in a predominantly African American school. He was a African American man. That man made sure that I was treated the same as everyone else. He made me feel important even though I didn't feel that way in every other aspect of my life. His name was Mr. Mudd. I will always remember him. Thanks Mr Mudd.

I can understand Joe Clark's mindset here. I can see him as a man who needed a purpose and a reason to make his mark upon the world and upon those who lived in it. All life has purpose, reason and meaning. It just takes people like Joe Clark and others like him to notice that purpose and use it to their advantage. And it was this purpose that saved so many students during that time in his school. I think my mom liked this movie for more than just the story. I think she saw the same thing I saw: The inspiration to fight against all that is dark, violent and evil. And I would have to agree with that.

Students want teachers and principals that actually believe in their students, not just throw work at us and expect us to take all of it in in time for a test. We need teachers who will motivate us this way, to tell us that we need to prove people wrong. We need teachers and principals who will treat us like thier own kids and actually help us learn! But sadly everyone now is just in a school for money and to feel power over kids that are the most vulnerable people in our society. And don't get me on the whole "we don't condone bullying" thing. We need teachers and principals who want to help and save students lives because kids are cruel as hell! We need someone to put kids in their place because other kids don't really know how to. Mr. Clark is someone all teachers and principals should be like. Not teachers who are they're just to get money or for a power dinamic.
