how cool would it be to take a fully finished city like this (well this one isn't finished yet but still, but it looks beautiful so far) and play an RTS like Wargame: Red Dragon on it? or even a FPS like battlefield or even Project Reality on it, just add building internals and wham the entire city is a map. Could you cut down on the eye dropper tool? It gets unrealistic when half the buildings in the city look identical. I wouldn't even know which house was mine.

+PaiNExoTiC Yer just had a look on google maps and can see that there are a lot of the same buildings. Most houses I think are built by the same company in an area as quickly as possible with as little money as possible so of course you have street will have the same house, or very similar. Also I was trying to find where weeds was filmed they have a lot of similar/ same houses.

PaiNExoTiC Yep even in Chicago.. First street I looked at 6001 S Carpenter St has 4 houses the same. I have never been to Chicago is that where ER is set? It is different to how I imagined.

Identical buildings are not in every country. Here in italy, at least where I live, I've obly very rarely seen identica buildings...

Hey Flux! Great episode as usual. I think you should avoid going overboard with the eyedropper tool. I know it can be used for little business complexes and plazas, it seems like it could get overused really quickly. I also think you should use the area between Dale and the casino area as a "Central Park" type deal, with paths, forests, lakes, playgrounds, perhaps a small zoo. Or make it a full zoo. That would help avoid growing pains with the grid. I love this series.

Hey Flux - maybe you could move the stadium that is in the main city next to all of the skyscrapers over to the new gambling district? I feel like it would be a better fit there, and then you can do more of a fade out of buildings in the main city from all of those huge skyscrapers. Just my suggestion - loved the video! Great start to the weekend :D

I really liked what you did with the eyedropper tool to create those complexes. You could consider doing some apartment complexes the same way maybe. I don't recommend doing them on low density residential though cause cookie cutter suburbs look really boring. Also maybe you could make something like a sports complex with soccer pitches, tennis courts and gyms and stuff. Placing that near the suburbs would look really nice imo. :)

Another good episode Flux. Gotta say though I'm not a fan of having boxes stacked up between buildings. Can't see any local council allowing that sort of thing. Looks messy and is unsafe for the citizens etc. Thanks for the video Flux :)

Good episode. That copying tool looks really good and really adds to the game. I have been recently watching an old series on SimCity on another channel and this game is so much better. They are releasing another update in a couple weeks called Snowfall which add realistic weather, trams and a revamped public transport system

Just a suggestion, maybe some palm trees and exotic trees as well as fruit trees should go in place of the residential homes. It is an island, rather than full pine like trees. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure the reason the buildings were dying was cause it planted them like a blue print, then they had to have their first level grow, then they (the second level buildings) grew in after.

Two things: Make vids more often! Second: I think it would be more interesting if you focused on details before you moved on to more areas because the amount of areas that you need to come back too keeps building up and it becomes a lot of work. In the neighborhoods, i think you should add lots of tall palm trees everywhere because nice neigborhoods and any nice area anywhere has LOTS of planned trees because they look good lol

The reason the one building was being deleted was because the way you had it facing did not allow it to be facing a road. The front of the copied building was facing another building, not the road.

That's not the reason the eyedropper wouldn't work. It's because it's a corner building, and CO got several of the corner buildings reversed. Try to eyedrop it on the corner with the wrong corner facing the intersection and it will work. Supposedly CO is looking into their reversed corner buildings, but there's no word on if and when they'll fix them.

It's ok. I can confirm that it works with AD with no issues. Tracking down which mod it's incompatible with can be tough. What other mods do you have? I don't use that many mods, but I might be able to help you narrow it down.

That's a lot of mods. I don't have most of them, but I can confirm that it's compatible with NotSoUniqueBuildings, EuropeanBuildingUnlocker, Toggle Traffic Lights, Terraform Tool, and First Person Camera. I have all those and they all play nice together. I can also say that Precision Engineering and No More Purple Pollution work, so you could re-sub those. It doesn't narrow it down a lot, but at least you can rule those out. There's a forum called Simtropolis with a lot of helpful people who use a lot more mods than I do and might be able to help narrow it down further. Something you might try is un-subbing all of them, then re-subbing the ones I listed only and see how things work, then re-sub the rest one at a time to test them. Process of elimination.

The reason why you couldn't place those buildings is because they are corner buildings, so they need to be aligned to roads correctly, otherwise they just despawn due to no road access.
