I am a river fisher that has come over to Stillwater late in life. There is so much to learn especially with depth. I don’t want to strip lures. I want to use flies as close as possible to what the fish are feeding on. Your videos are excellent and great learning tools, thank you

Know where you are going, what equipment, have the equipment ready, weather, online research of fishing lures and techniques, and who and where to gain local information. oh, and don't forget, to have fun, maybe a good friend, and a wee flask too.

Lindsay, another first class video. Content and editing were spot on as usual but I laughed when you covered communication, sadly depending on the comp and the boat draw not all boat partners are as keen to share as Ronnie (who’s a natural in front of the camera by the way) ... Lindsay, do you ever fish from the bank at these larger waters or is boat always best-seems for a newbie that the boat is adding another layer of complexity around drifts, anchoring, etc, etc? Cheers
@lindsayiflyfish3 жыл бұрын
Many fish venues like this from the bank and do very well. The problem I have is living so far away it makes going at minimum an all day affair. Having a boat means you can get around a lot easier.

My advice would be never wear waders in a boat! Frightening the amount of people I see doing this. And after a horrible experience out on loch leven once after the fuel line burst!!! Check the boat before heading out, hose lines between outboard and fuel tank are prone to deterioration and check connections. Never go fishing when your supposed to be shopping with the other half!!! Lol.
