I've been fishing a creek by my house and can't get smallmouth to bite last week I picked up the spin rod for the first time In under a year and caught two in two days of good size on spinners like Panther martins! The wont bite crawfish patterns or clousers because they hang with really small blue gill and chubs so the don't eat minnow and I've tried small nymphs an wooley buggers and the just will look at the fly! I've caught really small smallies all te time but only 1 in one year in this creek fly fishing! It's so frustrating because I know they are in there! It's sad when the brown trout are more aggressive than a bass! Any tips?

Sorry for the late reply. I am way busy with a lot of events and what not. PM me your address and I will send you some HiTail Craws, Frosty Minnows and Blockhead Poppers. Maybe you just need the right patterns. I would think woolly buggers would do it but using the crayfish hop with the HiTail Craw might be just the trick.
