Fly Fishing for WILD Trout in Small CREEKS // Missouri Road Trip(Part 1)

I take a 3-day fly fishing road trip to Missouri. I am targeting wild trout in small creeks. My plan is to try and catch a wild trout out of 4 different creeks and possibly a fifth creek as a bonus! All these creeks are designated as blue ribbon trout areas. Missouri has a total of 9 streams that are designated as Blue Ribbon Trout Streams. These 9 streams all have naturally reproducing(wild) rainbow trout. Fly Fishing in these creeks leave me hanging my head one moment and have me nonstop smiling the next!

I had a similar experience down on the Little Piney. Spent two days there and caught 3 little rainbows. So excited by the time I got one on the second day. Made all the difference!

@OutdoorHighlife I'm rewatching your video for some tips on fishing this creek. My wife surprised me with a weekend trip for my birthday this early February! I'm so excited to try to catch trout that are not stockers like Bennett Springs and Taneycomo. Wish me luck, cheers!

I go to LP all the time. Always catch alot of fish. Biggest there so far probably 16 in. Crane biggest there 19 in. Don't know what your doing wrong

Its a fun challenge for sure! There is not necessarily any award except for a certificate, a pin. It’s really just an opportunity to get out and challenge your skills and explore some of the wonderful trout fisheries in Missouri! I’ve completed 6 of the 9 streams so far. There are 3 levels(5 streams-bronze/7 streams-silver/9 streams-gold).
