The best part of Montana is that no one really wades the skinny water so you have it all to your self. Never came accross a single person in 8 days of wet wading in Montana.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by that? Planning a trip to the bozeman area in July and looking to mostly wade fish. Are you saying most creeks dont get any attention? What is your definition of skinny water?
@Joe_Christopher7 ай бұрын
Yes, most people float. Get trout routes if you don’t have it and go blue line the class 2 streams in the area. Good luck!

We will be see ya on Montana wardens soon. They like preforming for the camera like the show cops. Oh, grizzlies I wouldn't worry about. But the dogmen I would definitely. Bear spray will just piss them off.

Love your videos more than you can know, Drew! I'm at home, postponing fishing trips while looking after my sick cat who's dealing with kidney failure. However, when he finally dies, I will be venturing out from Vancouver, Canada and trying out the rivers east and west of Highway 37, the one that connects Yukon with the town of Kitwanga to the south on Highway 16. It's rough country with a million miles of memories to find. Got to do it before I follow my cat. In the meantime, thanks for your show - your joy comes through loud and clear!

Hi Drew, what a great video! Just got back from 3 weeks fishing the Madison, Missouri, and Kootenai - up and down the whole state of Montana! Mostly drift boat floating, but the most fun was wading little O'Dell Creek (flows into the Madison. Lots of fat browns under the banks. Your video is a good reminder how much fun it is to wade fish the smaller streams. Keep 'em comin'!

Loved your video. I typically fish big streams in Montana because I'm too much of a chicken to go to places with grizzly warnings--bear spray or not. Though, last season there was a sign at one of the popular places on the Madison warning away anglers due to a grizzly kill nearby. So you're always taking chances in Montana. One last comment: you have a really beat up net. Why not replace it with something more decent? Is it because you like the minimalist look? I own a Brodin net and when the bag wore out, I replaced it with a Brodin Eco Clear Rubber Replacement Net following their instructions--no zip ties... ;-)

I read some of the comments others sent in. Have you thought about adding some educational pieces? Show the flies you use and why you chose those particular flies. Explain nymphing and the techniques you use. My suggestion is to write a book on how to chose the rivers and streams, where you pull your intro from.

Drew seems to really like just those 3 states. Does anyone know where he lives? I live in Washington State and once fishing stealhead on the Skagit River I ran into a guy who towed his drift boat all the way from New York to fish. We drank a beer and told stories and had some laughs. Anyway, I assume Drew lives near, Colorado, Idaho and Montana. Thanks Drew.

Judging by your emotionless “no big deal” reaction breaking a 1000 dollar rod, I am not losing any sleep over the passing of your 4wt. Scanning all the very expensive Orvis gear you have, I am betting you are sponsored and get those 1k💰 rods handed over for free like candy 😙. I will use a Echo over a Orvis any day.

Haha...the recon isn't a $1,000 rod. More importantly, I don't promote on my channel and have turned down thousands of offers such as this one from an e-bike company that wanted to gift me a bike and pay me to create a youtube video such as this one below...you've probably seen the e-bike vids that other youtuber's have made recently. Store link: www.________.com/ Products on sale: xxxxxxxxx 26" ( $1399 ) Aaaaaaaa 26" ($1399) Bbnnnnnn 27.5" ($1199) Ccccvvvvv 27.5" ($1199) 2. We will provide you with the bike of your choice and exclusive discount codes and promotions to encourage your fans to buy our products. Below is our affiliate program. If I seemed chill it's for 3 reason's...1. I break lots of rods, it's not that big a deal since they are covered under warranty. 2. it's just a rod...I refuse to let it ruin my vibe. I did edit out the f-bomb tho lol! 3rd and most important, I don't lose my mind or overreact bc I realize I'm fortunate to do this...I consider fishing to be a gift...nope you'll never see me acting all bummed about lost fish or broken rods when there are people with real struggles. No need to worry about my integrity. I choose the gear I use bc I trust the brand...NOT for product, cash or sponsorships! Have a great day dude!
