Hey Drew, every time I watch your videos I get a mix of joy and extreme jealousy, as well as a fear that these remote places you are in won't be the same when I can finally go explore them. I am going into my senior year of college in Salt Lake City as a ballet and environmental studies double major, so I have a long road ahead of me before I can be taking such amazing trips as you. I still manage to get in a lot of fishing time, I just really want to get off the beaten path and see as much wilderness as I can before climate change can seriously alter them or the beautiful fish they hold. Nevertheless, thank you for your simple yet amazing videos. Tight lines, and I would love to fish with you one day.

Don’t worry. These places will be here way after you are gone. The environmentalists will have banned you from places like this in 10 15 years so you better go when you get the chance.

I've watched dozens of your videos... and frankly I'm a bit disapointed. I'm disapointed in myself for not getting out more. I live here in Boise, and when I watch how easy you make it look, even in small pocket water, I want to throw my iPad across the room, grab my rod & gear, jump in my Jeep and disappear for a week or two. But, my lovely wife might get the wrong idea. I'd better explain it to her first, or try... Thanks Drew!

Really enjoy this channel. Started fly fishing seriously this past summer. I relocated to Montana for the summer and fished in the Missoula area and over the border in Idaho in the Clearwater drainage. The fishing in Idaho was awesome. It would be cool if you could identify generally, the river drainage you are fishing without giving up the specific location. Keep fishing Drew! I am in the mid-Atlantic and have to get my trout fix on KZbin until I got back to Montana next summer .

You mentioned a plane dropping orange balloons near a fire site. That could be what my forestry major college classmates called, 'slurry' or a fire retardant. These guys would work as fire-fighters for the USFS during summers and a couple of times came back for fall classes with skin all tainted by the stuff, having been doused by it during close action with fires.

Hi Drew, I very much like you're way of living and your way of flyfishing. After retirement, next year July I plan a worldtour. To start in Europe, via US/Canada, Patagonia, Mongolia and New Zealand. However, I just wonder: don't you get bored to fish all those years like you're doing? I once made a 4 weeks trip and was glad to be back home again.. By the way: might your cooler fall out for whatever reason: cool your beer in the stream. I used to do that.

I've watched all your videos and a few twice, there that good! Another stunning video Drew! Enjoyed the long form but you could've made 4 or 5 stunning videos out of this adventure and I still would've enjoyed it. Love that your adding more camping, cooking, wildlife shots to go with the fishing! One question, are you using a mic w your gopro? Your audio is good and I can't seem to get that w just a gopro without boosting it in post. Anyways take care, c you on the next one! Steve at Black Fly ✌️

Man the western mountains are paradise! Mixed feelings about logging……necessary evil but It gripes me when our resources are pimped out to foreign interest (as in the redwoods)…..anyway, still fantastic out there. I grew up near the Sierra’s in Sacramento and now live in Mountain Home, AR………it has its own beauty but it’s just not the same vibe as the big conifer forests. Fantastic videos man!
