When the sulphur are hatching ir is often better to fish nymphs and emergers, unless the hatch is very good with many duns on the surface.

Very nice, well done. I know how hard it is to take video by yourself, sometimes the fish don't cooperate. You manage to not only give good technical info. but also show the results with some very nice fish. Thanks

Looks like fun. Did you ever fish the sulfur hatch in the evening? They hatch so late sometimes you have to fish in the dark. Any patterns you could recommend? Thanx again Jim.

I have fished into the dark on this hatch. Any of my Sulpher patterns work great for the sulpher hatch. Check my Playlist Modern Dry Flies.

It depends on the situation sometimes I use an indicator and sometimes not. If you are fishing slower water an indicator is helpful. Otherwise just watching your line to stop is good enough.

It all depends what's on the water. I do know changing flies is always a good idea. If it's from a traditional dry to a cripple or emerger that makes a difference. Jim

Thanks Ron, It is much easier when you have a cameraman. But I usually am the one behind the camera. When you use a tripod you have to set up before hand. Also I need to make sure the tripod isn't going to get tipped over. I'm not always using a waterproof camera. Check out my video Late Summer fly fishing in my Playlist "Fly Fishing" My camera went for a swim good thing it was waterproof. Jim

What weight rod are you using. and what size nymph hook?
@TheFlymanJim11 жыл бұрын
I use a 4wt. The nymph I used was a 12 2xl.

Okay thank you.

You can use heavier like a 5 or 6 weight. Or smaller even I've caught these large trout on 2 weight rods. I find a 4 weight to be perfect for me.
