There is nothing boring about the state what so ever. If you’re a fisherman it is heaven and exciting, if you’re a casual that loves to party and have big cities then yes it is boring but Idaho, South and North Dakota have some of the biggest fish in this country. I typed way too much for something I didn’t even watch lol.

Back in the 80's, I had to drive across Nebraska heading west one day. After the eternity ended, I literally got out of the car and mooned your state right at the CO border. It seemed like 400 million miles of flat brownish green (late September). I have forever since referred to this as "the month I spent driving across Nebraska one day" Tight lines!

Crazy to me that South Dakota would be listed that highly on a list like that. It has the Black Hills. Custer State Park and the largest buffalo herd outside of Yellowstone. Badlands National Park. Wind Cave National Park. Sturgis. Mt Rushmore. The list goes on. States like Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, etc are way more “boring.” They’re basically a giant expanse of cornfields with a city here and there.

I guess “boring” to most peoples definition and standards is in regards to what city’s have to offer and what kind of culture the state or area provides. As far as nature beauty goes, I feel like Idaho and South Dakota should be pretty up there on the list. For sure most boring scenery wise are Indiana, most of Ohio, Rhode Island, Delaware, NJ other than pine barrens, Alabama, Iowa, Kansas, Illinois and prob Florida.

Yes, and other animals like coyotes, deer and bow fishing Ect. Just most use a Lever or compound bow with very few though growing numbers again using more traditional recurve bows. Where I live in Pierre (Pier) I did see some kids about 8 years ago bow fishing with some cheap flat limb target bows and the home built bow fishing reels from Tin cans with a hole in it for a proper thread size/gauge bolt in the can to attach it to the stabilizer hole who were using an area to fish I personally would not have used but they were fishing and caught a different fish a big sun perch while I was going by one of the bigger fish.

There's a place in Nebraska called Rock Creek, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Having gone there a lot as a kid to visit family I wouldn't think there would be anywhere super notable to fish, and for the most part there isn't. I still loved going down to the local reservoir or really anywhere as long as im around family, but one place stood out, Rock Creek. Its just a fair sized lake fed by a small creek and surrounded by trees in the middle of grass fields, but it hit like magic to me. The best fish I ever caught and camping memories were there, nomatter the circumstances. Channel catfish, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, redear sunfish and yellow perch. Rainbow trout are stocked seasonally. Bluegill too of course, and other critters that help the ecosystem like crawdads and feeder fish. Wild turkeys are often spotted around, box turtles, deer, just about anything that lives there finds oasis at Rock Creek, including ticks, but that never stopped me from climbing a tree as a kid. Just stay out of the tall grass and hope the bugs don't pester you. The Bass are feisty and the water is full of life. I even caught a catfish by surprise on just a regular lure trying to get a trout. I'll never forget that as I was young, my dad went off to get some more ice and bait, so I was on my own with a catch that I wasn't sure if I could wrangle. Thing was about 10 pounds, and in the water my line was trembling. The fight was so exhilarating I don't know if it went on for 5 minutes or 30, it was just pure fight the whole time. When I wore it out I was really hesitant on grabbing it, I sure didn't want to be stung and as a kid I took a catfish stinger as a death warning and knew one burst of strength was all it would take for it to get free at the chance. I grabbed the stringer and fought out a little more energy from it before I strung it up in the water with terror and glee, waiting for my dad to get back to even attempt unhooking the beast. It took a sizeable hand hatchet a couple solid swings to dispatch, the skull of catfish are remarkably strong and protect most vitals. Dare I say it was one of those trial by fire moments, a classic and primitive method of becoming a man.
