Here you can learn the essentials of Frank Sinatra's song „ Fly me to the moon „ played in a smooth jazz manner. I show you the melody in an easy manner, the chords in 2 different types with strumming or in a band sitaution and give you some basic tips and tricks if you want to improvise to this song by just using the A minor blues scale and reacting to the chords A7 and E7. Here is the progression I have used. The backing track is available on my website www.hpcrazy.com/downloads.html
My piano version of this song can be listened here. Yes I have my roots as a jazz pianist starting my career in jazzpiano bars : • Fly Me To The Moon - J...

Love this guys style of playing, makes Fly Me To The Moon a reality, I'm there when he improvises. Makes it look so easy but that takes years of experience to get to this standard, it just flows. Almost forgot about the tutorial and just want hear him play.

I'm liking this because you love what you're doing and do it in a very accomplished way. I listen to lots of music e.g. as re Jazz (contemporary) Weather Report . Steely Dan for me it crosses the line not too far from - if you will - a funky groove. Complicated indeed. I couldn't even touch trying to play it nor can I play any Jazz - it just does not grab me and somehow smacks of a little exclusive club. THE amount of contortion the fingers - never mind music theory - one has to go through requires a half life time and more. I'll stick to (struggle through) pop songs and a bit of basic blues. Lots of people just want to play in a social setting and have no further afield desires unless they find themselves surprisingly gifted and your name is Pat Matheny or Mike Dawes etc ;-) When they arrive at the party you've practiced a few acoustic songs to impress your sweet heart. You just grit your teeth and smile and say - yes to your sweet hearts remark - they are really good and no, I really don't feel like playing tonight ;-) ;-) ;-)
