I have flyfished for steelhead for some 40 years. I have read, watched, and fished it all....but hands down by far the BEST video I have watched on our sport. Whoever filmed the trip and put it together should win award!!! I grew up on the Klamath River in Northern California, live and fish the PNW, and have gone to BC....had a few days of multiple steelhead, BUT you folks rocked it!!!
@SultanofSpey2 жыл бұрын
I doubt most of what you say because you say you've seen it all. There is no "ALL" in steelheading. Every day, every cast, every grab is a rebirth and if it's not you've become entitled. Broaden you search. There's more out there than you say.

Best thing being a guide for 10 years now, myself... having clients, new or return, that are skilled and know what they are doing. Get em on the spot and you can trust them not to mess everything up in 3 seconds 😂👌 nice thing about not being an Addicted video is not listening to Jordan shout the entire video and his dog bark lol

Wow, just saw this video and man what a great day you ladies had. I’m new to the PNW and still looking to land my first steelhead. You ladies landed enough for a lifetime, congrats on that. I’m signing up to see more great videos.

Just returned to DK after a week in Norway, fishing for Atlantic Salmon, "only" got 2 this year, due to extreme water level. My soul simply craves for more, always dreamed of visiting Skeena in the hunt for big Steelheads, this little video makes me wanna sell everything i own, go to Skeena and never return, its truly a place of dreams. Well done, beautiful video that tells a little about the "flyfisher madness" :)

This video encompasses everything that makes steelhead fishing great ... the scenery, the aesthetic, the joy of being with good friends (and the jealousy) and the lack of words to describe what it feels like to hook and land these fish ... really cool video!

Look at that water, the mountains . Thats flyfishing heaven. Only few of us will experience that kind of fishing. Funny , watched this yeeeeears ago. Still makes me want to go plan a vacation there. I should have listened to myself when younger. Because i would live there now. Being happy and not in an overcrowded country without trout let alone salmon ,steelhead etc . Norway is the closest when it comes to fishing for Salmon ,trout and lots of Greyling. But North America is flyfishing utopia.

I remember the first time I took a fine salmon on a dry fly. It was on the River Matane in beautiful Québec. I was there with my girlfriend and in rotation with five other anglers (who all were fishing the wet fly). Near the middle of the pool I saw a large salmon roll on the surface. I covered it with a brown bomber I had tied the evening before, at camp. In one glorious moment the beast engulfed my fly...and the rest is history. A stunning 13lb bar of silver lay in the net. A moment I will never forget.

Superb video. Brilliant fishing and the video gets it across really well. I have only had one salmon on a dry fly. I was fishing a 10 foot trout rod and a size 16 fly on a 3 lb cast. It took 35 minutes to land a 7 lb fresh run grilse, and possibly the most exciting fish I have ever played. It was in a fast run with weed everywhere. This fishing looks amazing, although I realise it cannot be like that every day! When are you next going girls? I could do with sharing your luck. If cash is tight I don't mind sharing a room. I wish there were girls like you in the UK so keen on fishing, I might have to emigrate. Tight lines!

Great video of some amazing rivers and fish. I'm reading behind the lines here, but the Dean River must really have gone downhill if April guided there for a few years but has never seen a double-header or caught a steelhead on a dry fly. It's very sad DFO is OK with steelhead being decimated by commercial and tribal netting.

Nice vid! Why don't they use a net? Seems like it would faster, less stress on the fish, and less time in the icy water for the hands? Also would lose fewer fish, although I don't recall them losing too many during beaching them.
