Recently, I keep hearing don't wear capri pants. They are dated. I have several jean material ones that I like to wear in the spring & I still wear them, if i need a bottom that works with the top I have on. It's about what you feel good in, how you style it, & how it makes you feel.

You are so right. We should wear what makes us feel great not what “the rules” say. I think you’ve really nailed it. It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it. ❤

Rules !? Umm…If something makes you feel like million bucks wear it. Confidence is a style all in itself😊. Thanks for this, you have great topics.

I began my gray hair transition journey about 18 months ago. I am just letting it go using purple shampoo and conditioning now. Before that for about three years, every six months I had my hair low lighted and highlighted to make the transition more subtle.

I have broken these “rules” on multiple occasions over many years. Guess what? My friends and family still love me! Having said that, I tend towards the 80/20 approach, where 80% of my wardrobe is more classic, and 20% is more “of the moment.” I’m not fooling anyone about how old I am; the key for me is to look fresh, current, and contemporary. That’s my style vibe. 🇨🇦🙂

I apparently, break all those rules lol. I make my own jewelry which consists mostly of statement pieces. I also love a good halter dress, and bright colors! Great topic.

I always wore and still do wear peplums instead of tunics to accentuate my waist.

Great topic! I feel like at over 50 we have the best of both worlds. If I wear something modern or trendy, I'm fly. If I wear something a bit matronly, no biggie because I'm a woman of a certain age. Also, my hair is salt and pepper, heavy on the salt. Lol I got tired of fighting the grey and now my hair is the healthiest it's been in years. 😊

You are lovely!!! I am 60 years old with white hair and agree that we are blessed to be aging and many of these rules are made by the fashion industry and do not reflect real woman over 50

I don’t know who came up with those “rules” about dressing over 50, but they’re nonsense! How the heck am I supposed to get dressed at all if I stay in those so-called rules??? (I’m actually all about wearing bright colors.) I love scarves, and bright colors. I adore Iris Apfel as a style icon and inspiration!

Iris was amazing! She reminds me of my grandmother because she just wore whatever made her happy and didn't care what anybody else thought. #Goals! Thanks for watching!
