Hi guys, see above or perhaps Sea bass fishing in Kerry or Stingray fishing there too, but not fly fishing for Stingers. Or Pollock and Wrasse fishing from around the Bere peninsula. This would be something slightly different for the Channel 😊

I suggest you come over to the Czech Republic. Fishing the Vltava and Otava rivers should definitely be on your bucket list. As it leaves the Lipno dam, Vltava river becomes a world-class fishery with big and healthy population of wild brown trout as well as good ammount of big stocked rainbow trout. However if you fancy fishing small streams in the middle of nowhere surrounded by an epic scenery, then the upper parts of the Otava and Vltava rivers located in the Šumava national park are your go-tos. Nothing beats fishing with tiny dry flies for chunky grayling in the middle of autumn.

kanalgratisdotse Can you make a video on soft hackles/reverse hackles. How they move in river water? I’m puzzled why they are considered a universal fly. You can fish nymphs in the same matter. Don’t soft hackles collapse in water? SOFT HACKLES VS NYMPHS

I notice you both used the 10’ nymphmaniac. I just got the 11’ 3wt and wondered why your preference was the 10’. I have yet to use the rod by can’t wait to get it out on the water
@suominenjj5 жыл бұрын
I love the 10' versions and they are my go-to tools when nymphing. Especially in the Nordic countries. Many of the waters up here are structured so that you will be able to get close enough with a 10' rod. The 10' is also a bit easier to handle being a bit shorter. However there are times when you need the extra reach and that's where the 11' Nymphmaniac comes to play.

Great video! Thanks for posting. Just to be sure, the indicator is a two tone braded type of indicator. And the wax is to enhance the colour for better visibility. Or do apply the wax on coloured monofiliament? Greetings from The Netherlands.

@@suominenjj other topics people would enjoy watching would be, 1. Difference between a cheap rod and an expensive rod. 2. Casting techniques with different rods, situations etc.. 3. How to read the water 4. A deep dive into accessories such as bags, floatants, line speed liquids.. everything you need and use (plus things you dont need but is just cool) in your bag when fly fishing! 5. Different indicators (size, material, situations etc) pros and cons with them. 6. I am not a put n take angler myself(used to be), but going fishing around the putntake lakes around stockholm would be highly appreciated by your viewers I think. 7. Difference between a cheap and expensive reel. 8. A lot of people are buying fishing equipment from alibaba, wish, aliexpress. Judging by the pictures the reels and rods look awesome, but just how good are they really? Idea: test a few different popular fly fishing setups from the China stores and review them. This will give you thousands and thousands of views! Keep it up and Thanks for great content!

@suominenjj5 жыл бұрын
Hi Arto! If you you mean indicator position in the leader setup it's also mentioned on the vid. But we have about 10-15 feet of level monofil connected to the ULN fly line. Then connect the indicator to the level. The length of the tippet section where the flies are then tied depends on the water depth. You want to have the indicator just above the water and your point fly just above the bottom.
@jovisst5 жыл бұрын
In the movie cato is saying 90 cm to 1m from first fly but it all depends on the depth of the river you fish
@suominenjj5 жыл бұрын
Indeed Magnus. Cato usually fishes and tries to look for spots with good depth for grayling which results to roughly about 1m from indicator to top fly. Then about 60-80cm from top fly to point fly. But the distance between top fly and indicator should always be adjusted to match the water depth.

@suominenjj5 жыл бұрын
@@dmitrijsstupins9624 it depends the conditions you're fishing. In warmer conditions the hard version is better. But if you're constantly fishing in cold weather then the soft might be better.
