@nymphingnewt7639 Жыл бұрын
@@waynemasey545 ah nice, not too far from me. If you want trout then you need to be on the tees and Swale, they are our best two rivers and not too far from you. Sea trout fishing you can’t beat the wear then salmon - the Tyne. All rivers have good grayling fishing too. We have some fantastic fishing around us to be fair, even on the Eden which is only a hour drive away 👍🏻

Just subscribed and out to the shed I don't have the Squirrel dubbing at present but would some SLF super bug dubbing do..I'm a relative novice and as yet don't have huge amounts of materials...Thanks you
@nymphingnewt7639 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can use that dubbing. You don’t have to use the exact material, you might find yours works better than mine 😉👍🏻

Is that the same as Bob Wyatts pattern?i tied it a few years ago but....really never tried it.have you compared it to a Klinhammer? in your oipinion what is the difference and results? a reason ,,,why?thanks
@nymphingnewt76392 жыл бұрын
It’s similar to Bob Wyatts, I’ve fished both the klinkhammer and the DHE and they are both excellent patterns! Regarding differences, 1. The DHE takes half the time to tie than the klinkhammer. 2. The DHE is cheaper to tie.(only 3 materials). 3. Looks more natural in the water. I’ve totally converted to this DHE over the klinkhammer in most water types, the only time I use a klinkhammer over the DHE is in really fast Riffled water with a heavy hackle and a bright post. I’ve found the fish take the DHE more confidently than the klinkhammer in slow water too 👍🏻

Can you use this on rivers?
@nymphingnewt76392 жыл бұрын
Yeh these catch all day on rivers. Probably the most effective fly when fish are rising 👍🏻
@farioreo2 жыл бұрын
have you fished this fly when they refuse dries and appear to be feeding on emerging nymphs in or just under the film?thanks
@nymphingnewt76392 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, that’s when this fly comes into its own. It basically imitates all the upwing fly species, they rarely refuse the DHE 👍🏻
