Humungus Proper New HD Video 2020

This fly is the Real Deal, the fly I gave to everyone many years ago. The history of the pattern and the problems that came with it are documented in my older video on my channel.
A jazzed-up frog knobbler it catches fish everywhere and not just trout, but also Bonefish, Atlantic Salmon, Bass, Pollack, Mackerel the list is endless. Has action, shape and fish catching abilities beyond any other lure I have ever used........
Hook: - Kamasan B175 or Fulling Mill 1530 Size 8 (you can tie smaller also)
Thread: - Black
Tail Flash: - Definite Advantage Silver or Gold Humungus Flash
Tail: - Sunburst Collection Black Velvet Marabou
Rib: - Silver or Gold Wire
Body: - Silver or Gold Humungus 6mm Chenille
Hackle: - Chinese Cock Hackle Chinchilla or Cheap Poor Cree (4 Turns)
Eyes: - Silver Bead Chain Eyes 4mm Whipped with Fig of 8 On the top of the hook and Superglued.
Honestly Try thsi fly its a Killer pattern and in my Top Three patterns of all time..

Hi David: So at the end of the fishing day, after catching loads of perch on what i call a Golden Cormorant, looked in my fly box and saw one of these i had tied a good while back, and so i thought, let's just give this a go, trolling back across the lake in i bit of breeze. Paddling a canoe actually, and while focusing on the wind, noticed my rod bent back and throbbing like crazy. Nice rainbow took it in good. Well, almost to shore now, put it in again and bam! again, another rainbow. They hadn't been taking anything all morning. So now i know it really works, like you said. Thank you sir! Randy c

Last weekend I used this pattern tied in gold in a bass pond with crappie. I caught 5 crappie and 5 large mouth bass. I had the highest catch rate around and this really turned some heads from the standard woolly bugger. I tied the version Lance Egan showed, which originated from you I think. Thank you for sharing.

Brilliant I always wanted to fish one of them bass pro comps with the Shuggies :) and it worked well for me also when I wa sin Canada fishing and there was Bass present in the lake

Hi Davie, my name is Angus Macarthur, known as gus from Clydebank. My best friend is Stewart Inglis who advised me to check you out. I’m mostly a salmon angler and now going to make it my project to get a tyne salmon on this pattern. I’ve fished the humongous lots for rainbows but never really looked at the name..... human. Gus. Met you at a comp at a dam called the Muirhead years ago you gave me 2 shugys I had a butcher boy on there the following day a got 36 big browns and l000s since it was the first time I'd seen the fly since I'd seen 3 browns for 9. 7oz sitting on the scales at leven so thanks for the video and the flies PS I found the other 8 you lost on the grass 10lb doublestrength wasn't holding that day lol Jordan scott

It works with all fish, browns rainbows sea trout salmon bonefish anything honestly ists an amazing all rounder, oh and pike love it but landing them aint easy on a normal leader

Hi Shannon summer going ok here in Scotland thanks, hope you are well. I normally fish the silver on the point and the Gold on the top dropper with something like a claret hopper of pearly invicta in between. Usually always a three fly cast. They work better together. Generally I find the gold works better on the sunny days and Silve ron the dull days if that makes sense? And if a fish follows the gold up and ignores it hanging the silver can usually convert that take as the fish will drop down and pick that one up. Cheers Dave

Im not sure to be honest I used to buy them from B&Q but they stopp[ed selling them so ive been struggling to find them from other outlets, i think they are brass coated ones to be honest

Dave, Thank you for the updated video. I watched your original Humungus series when you first did them years ago. Using materials I purchased from you then, I've had good success with this fly here in the U.S. When you are fishing either 2 Humungus (a Silver on the point and a Gold on the top dropper) or fishing a 3 fly cast (with another fly between them), what is your preferred leader set-up? Sorry for the very late rep[ly, but I ususally use an 18' leader with even spacings of 6' between the fly with something natural in betweeen like a claret hopper, hope your still catching best regards dvae

Sorry for the late reply, just look for a chincilla of cheap indian chinese cape the ones you usually find in the bargain bucket. I had some in stock but they did not last very long at all
