Welcome back! Good to see your first video of the year. I am sure you are tying flies and getting ready for the new season. I hope you post videos again this season, especially from the Willow and Beaverkill or anything in the Catskills as that is where I plan to go. I enjoy your videos as they hit home, especially when you are traveling to your destination, crossing the NB Bridge over the Hudson as I live near there. I am very new to fly fishing as this will be my first full year getting into it after retiring recently and I am excited. Best wished for the upcoming year and be safe.

The fly floats on the deer hair, the trailing shuck acts as a counterbalance, and the hook point as a keel. Maybe you aren't familiar with how a comparadun is tied, or think only Catskill-style dries will float with the body suspended above the water - but that's not how mayflies sit on the surface. There are plenty of good references out there for you to further your education.
