You put some silicone onto a needle. Then you dub in some flyrite and the tail before the silicone has dried. The fisherman in the video makes the bodies himself but there won't be any tutorial video unfortunately. I think you can figure it out though. Good luck and cheers

Wow, that brown was unbelievably powerful and gorgeous. I enjoy watching videos of dry fly fishing for trout, but your videos are truly a work of art. I feel like I'm there with you from every step of tying the fly, to the presentation and finally to the take. I feel so blessed every time I watch your videos! A question, does someone go with you to do the videos?Tight Lines!
@CarpeDiemFlyfishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sherian. Really appreciate your comment :) Regarding your question, I'm not sure you're aware that you're communicating with the film maker on this channel. Not the fisherman. So if your question was directed to the fisherman, the answer is yes. He has me, the cameraman by his side. If you meant to ask me, the film maker, the answer is no. But it would be really helpful to have a person doing the sound recording because it's really tricky to capture good sound at the same time you're handling the camera. Take care :) Cheers

What a stunning little film. I live in Wiltshire, England and have a small chalk stream in my town. Sadly the wild brown trout are a heck of a lot smaller that the monster in your film, but they are beautiful. I fish for them with my much loved Orvis Superfine Carbon eight foot, two weight. I struggle to cope with the slower action of the Superfine Glass, but wondered what line you're using here as it seems to work perfectly?

That's great ! Like a Dream ! A dreamy dream The images of the beginning are completely wonderful. The middle shots are deliciously intimate and I drink at the health of Carpe Diem Tchin! Tchin :-) The Green Drake fly is perfect, but still, I find that it lacks the leg that rises from the original)))) Then I recognized the place, remembering an old video that was like a dream too. Is it the same trout that grew up? It must be said that the very juicy Green Drake makes trout very pretty * This one is monumental! Well alive, and I wish him a long life hoping that in a distant video we will find it! Thank you" very much for that moment of wonderful dreamy dream !!!
@CarpeDiemFlyfishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Fario. Very much appreciate your comment and your nice words :) Just a comment on the legs of the imitation. We find that the trout really prefers flies that lies right in the surface film. Seems that they avoid insects standing too high on the legs which is an indication that they are alert and can fly away quickly. The trout doesn't waste any unnecessary energy you know. Anyway, we find the parachute hackle definitely superior in that respect. All the best and cheers
@FarioMentos6 жыл бұрын
I appreciate Gracias !!!! With your video, you open my eyes, with your words you open my mind )))) Maybe one day the Trouts will have a fridge !... .... unless it is already the case ;-) Until that time, we can enjoy spending time togethers around about et à l'intérieur FISHING

Amazing! Need to learn how to fly fish... Can you recommend a first fly rod? Something to learn? I would really appreciate that as I only spinning at the moment cheers! Btw. You are my inspiration since I started catching trouts! Tight lines!
@CarpeDiemFlyfishing5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Appreciate it :) It's not easy to recommend a fly rod. There are many brands and they are all fairly good nowadays. The rod is the most important equipment in fly fishing so I wouldn't recommend to go too cheep. It will be trickier to learn how to cast and it won't be as much fun if you don't go for a decent rod. Let's say that around 200 bucks would be least I would spend on a rod. The best rods cost around 1000 bucks. The line is also important and the seller should be able to pick a suitable line for the rod. The reel comes third. Brands like Orvis, Vision, Sage, Winston, Guideline, Loop etc are all good. Cheers

@CarpeDiemFlyfishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Austin. Glad you enjoy the videos :) There are lots of other species around, e.g. pike, perch, chub, salmon etc. Sometimes we do fly fish for pike, which is lots of fun, but it seems that we always come back to the brown trout. That's our favorite fish for sure. Up north we also fish for arctic char and grayling. There are some videos from that type of fishing on the channel so you might wanna check them out. Cheers
