Another good one Michael, I just hope that new tyers stick at it as so often when they try it and say, the wing collapses on them, they will then bin it thinking it's too hard. But they just need to do it once so that they then know it can be done and they done it. Michael maybe a video showing them you cutting the wing slips out of the mallard quills 👍

Good point David, for a long time I found the wings tricky. It doest help that when you buy a pack of quills there's not really any exact matching pairs. I've also found that there's a sweet spot in the feather that definitely helps get the wing to tie in right

@@michaelcurrieflyfishing6870 I think everyone finds wings tricky at times. But I knew a few novice tyer's that wouldn't tie winged flies, when you asked, their reason was they tried it a couple of times and it didn't work. I think it really helps if they are showed the parting and cutting the quill step as well.. But have to say your doing a good job in trying to help newer tyers the fundamentals of tying 👏👍
