Nice tie. I can personally attest to the effectiveness of this one. It does not look like much, but man can it rake in the panfish carp and bass. I've often put it in front of, or behind larger streamers. Dropped it off indicator flies. dead drifted it alone. You name it it can do it. My go to colors are light olive, black and tan in that order. Simple deadly.

Hi Martyn, excellent pattern. Can't tell you enough how much I enjoy your channel! I have a question, are there salmon in the rivers of Japan? I ask because I watched Journeys In Japan on our PBS network. The host was an Irishman watching a Japanese flyfisherman land what looked like an Atlantic salmon ??? More confusing was the names and locations mentioned. ehto? itou? and north of Tokyo was N. Ichudo? So after watching an Irishman watching a Japanese flyfisherman I though I'd ask a Scottish gentlemen living in Japan if he knew what fishing I may have seen. Thanks Martyn, always a joy to listen and learn! 🎣👍😉

Joe Duca Hi Joe, there are salmon but not Atlantic. There are chum and coho as far as I know, there are also taimen and sea run char in Hokkaido

Martyn White Flicking Feathers Me again, I got to see the whole journeys in Japan today. The itou or ito is a salmon and the taimen is the same fish, according to Google. Sarufutsu is the river they were fishing. I guess they are endangered also. I always associated taimen with the mainland Asia. They say the village of Sarufutsu is tops in scallop harvest also. The Irishman host ate some raw ones at the processing plant. Big and juicy! Thanks for the help Martyn!

Are you left handed or do I just tie backwards from you? Great video! I dunno why I can't ever get that hand whip finish down but you make it look easy.

Yakfish Oregon I'm right handed but I tie backwards. Just use the tool if you struggle to do it by hand. Tight lines.
