So glad to have recently discovered your channel. After seeing your hidden double wrap I couldn't hit subscribe fast enough. It's a brilliant technique and I know it's going to help tidy up my flies. Thanks for sharing and greetings from RI.

I had noticed my peacock herl tied off more securely and neater when it was spun onto the thread on my Norvise. In wrapping the hackle feather around the thread to tie off you are achieving the same end result. Very good.

You are right Steve; we often do the same thing with our rotary vises (not Norvises) or you can do it by hand.

That’s neat way to hide and bind the hackle on both conventional and parachutes. I can think of several applications already. Thanks for sharing. Great channel.

Thanks Stan. It's one of our tricks in a bag of tricks that we've decided to share while we still have the time to do so. Use it and pass it on to other tiers.

To me, you are wrapping your material…hackle , hurl, wire etc. around the hanging thread in a counter clockwise direction two times, and secure it to the hook! Hope that helps!
@albeatty14046 ай бұрын
You are right but the process actually us based on where you want to hide the waste end - to the left or to the right of the material application. Thanks for the comment.

In the 80's my wife was at a retirement party for a phone company tech. He stood up to make his speech at the dinner, and said, "The hardest thing about retirement is trying to figure out how many tie wraps your going to need for the rest of your life." For myself, I'm going to call it the retirement wrap.

Wow! I LOVE the idea. That said, after working with it for some time, we've decided to call it the Double Wrap and in short the Wrap. Thanks for the TelCo memory in your post.
