Fly Tying Josh Miller's JDK Perdigon

In this video I tied Josh Miller's JDK perdigon. This has been a good fly for me, the fish really seem to like it! I have noticed that this fly is very productive in the summer and winter months. On sunny days and super clear water, I like the black nickel or silver bead, depends what they want that day. And the copper bead always seems to produce no matter the condition. Thanks for watching!

Blue is weird color for fish to like! As always it’s more about the presentation than the fly though.

What fly box do you use, I like the slits for inserting flies from both sides of the foam?

I use the Umpqua LT standard foam box. They are small so I carry three, organized by weight. I also put a piece of foam on the clear side of the box to put flies in. I love them, highly recommend!

What color of blue flashabou is that?

It’s Dark Blue, I’m pretty sure, I was given it a while back without the package so I don’t know for sure. But I looked at the colors and Dark Blue would work the same.

I use Umpqua’s “UPG LT standard foam box” I have three of those with nymphs right now, and I love them!
