That is a beefy looking, meat-eating, monster fly! I dig using the deer hair to prop up the wing - so smart!! I'm always amazed at the amount of deer hair you can cram onto what looks like a small space for the head. The times I've tied deer hair heads they end up looking less than ideal. I look forward to getting my example of this one (that's right - I'm a GOLD subscriber) so I can refer to yours while I tie some up. Thanks, Brian!

I finally get to give YOU a pointer lol.. I’m a little wimpy when it comes to bleeding. I stopped using the slicker brush and bought me a set of wire soldering/welding brushes. They are only about 1.5 and 2.5 inches long. I bought a set of three for less that $4 at Walmart. I can control them better and while I do still occasionally poke myself with one of the wires, it’s not nearly as often as I did with the slicker brush. Best of luck and thanks for the great pattern

You make it look so easy! Just getting started in the world of streamer tying & fishing streamers and I’m already totally ate up with it. When it comes to a razor and deer hair, I break a sweat and screw it up most of the time. Any tips on that? Great tie, love your channel! Perhaps a subject for your “tips” vid or short… storing your fur… should you leave it in the bag or can you leave it out of the bag, in a drawer, out on display, punch a hole in the hide and ring it???? Your thoughts???

I usually tie a bunch of bodies, and when I am done I tie the heads at one time....them I trim them all at the same time. GREAT way to have some repetitive tying.
